"That Wasn't in the Range I Put Him On"

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

The popular $1,500 no-limit holdem events with massive fields attract all sorts of players with a wide variety of playing styles. Greg Raymer, 2004 Main Event Champion, recently told us about an interesting hand at his table which he called "an example hand from a $1,500 No-Limit."

Lazaro Hernandez raised to 225 preflop, and the small blind three-bet to 775. Hernandez called, and the flop came {a-}{6-}{4-} rainbow. The small blind bet enough to put Hernandez all in, about 1,800, and Hernandez snap-called with {a-}{j-}. The small blind showed {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and did not improve. Raymer, who was present at the table but not directly involved in the hand, perhaps put it best when he said, "That wasn't it the range I put him on."

Ting Ho Busto

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Circuit Grinder Ting Ho was back on the felt today after taking a break for a bit, but her return didn't last two long. We didn't catch the bustout hand as it happened, but we did see her tweet that she got it in after flopping top two pair, only to see her opponent hit runner runner for a flush to knock her out in level 3.

Heimiller Short and Out

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Dan Heimiller is an extremely good player. He already has a few cashes this series including a 10th place finish in an $1500 Horse and a 39th place finish in the $1000 Seniors Event. Unfortunately the field has already lost this great player.

Heimiller was extremely short when he put his remaining chips in with {k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and was up aginst his opponents {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Heimiller went home early today.

Lieu Leaves Early

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Paul Lieu a very solid player who has played in quite a few events this year is unfortunately already eliminated. He got his {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} in against his opponents {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

The flop was bad for him when his opponent flopped a set with {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. The turn gave Lieu eight outs as it came the {k-Spades}. But the river {k-Clubs} gave Lieu's opponent a full house and sending Lieu home at the end of Level three.

Aces for J.J. Liu

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We came upon J.J. Liu's table as she was getting involved in a preflop all-in confrontation. Liu held {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}, and was in good shape against her opponent's {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}, and Liu took the pot while her opponent hit the rail. She's now up to over 13,000 in chips.

In addition, here's a list of several players who we believe have late-registered for this event and are now at the tables.
