Bilokur Gets a Nice River

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante
Kathy Liebert is well under the starting stack.
Kathy Liebert is well under the starting stack.

In a battle of the blinds, Kathy Liebert and Alex Bilokur each put 3,700 in the pot on fourth street, and fifth street made the board {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Liebert checked and called 5,200 and was shown {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for kings up on the river. She couldn't beat it, and Bilokur is among the leaders.

E-Fro Doubles

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

Kyle Julius made it 1,700 and Phil Galfond called on the button before Eric Froehlich made it 5,200 from the small blind.

Julius then potted it, Galfond begged out and Froehlich re-potted, moving all in. Julius called with {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} but was well behind Froehlich's {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}. Aces held on the {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} run out.

Adams Closes In

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

A battle of the blinds turned almost deadly between Faraz Jaka and Timothy Adams moments ago.

We caught the hand on the river with the board reading {3-Clubs}{j-Spades}{a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and close to 60,000 in the pot. Adams pushed all in for 35,000 and Jaka sat mulling it over for a good two and a half minutes with about 45,000 behind.

Eventually he folded his hand and as Adams closes in on the 100,000-chip mark, Jaka has less than half that.

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante
Antonio Esfandiari got value with top two.
Antonio Esfandiari got value with top two.

Barry Hutter, in the cutoff, check-called 11,400 from Antonio Esfandiari on a board of {q-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. The river brought a four-straight with the {j-Hearts}, but Esfandiari still was undeterred, as he fired 18,000 after Hutter checked. Hutter though for a bit before sliding forward a call, and Esfandiari tabled {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for top two. Hutter mucked.

Chino's Jacks

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

On a {q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop Chino Rheem came out firing, making it 2,000. Heads-up opponent Kevin Stammen responded by making it 4,800 and Rheem made the call.

The {j-Diamonds} turn went check-check, but when the {5-Hearts} river came down, Rheem bet out 12,200. Stammen made the call and Rheem showed {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} for a turned set to take it down.

James Calderaro just busted out.
James Calderaro just busted out.

Joe Cada opened to 1,800 under the gun and got called by the button before James Calderaro three-bet to 8,000 out of the blinds. Cada made the call, and Calderaro potted all in for his last 6,100 on the {8-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. Cada snap-called, turning over {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for a set, while Calderaro needed runner-runner with {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. He was drawing dead after the {j-Clubs} turn.

Table 370, already housing JC Tran, Chino Rheem, Hoyt Corkins, and Chris Moorman, just added Phil Ivey to the intimidating lineup. Ivey's stack has been blinded off as he competed in the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E., but he's getting settled in here now.

Seidel Bluffs Off a Chunk

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Erik Seidel bet 17,000 after Michel Abecassis checked to him on a {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts} board. Abecassis thought long and hard, contemplating for three minutes or so before tossing in a call.

"Good call," Seidel said, tapping the table with a chip.

Abecassis turned over {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for second pair, and Seidel mucked his hand.
