Four-Bet Bluff for Laplante

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Ryan Laplante
Ryan Laplante

Dan O'Brien raised to 7,000 from early position, Barny Boatman reraised to 15,000 and Ryan Laplante four-bet to 23,000 from late position. O'Brien folded and Boatman made the call. The flop was the {2-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Boatman checked. Laplante fired 16,000 and Boatman folded.

Laplante proudly rolled over {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and gathered the pot.

Lapossie Lets One Go

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Matthew Lapossie opened the betting and got one caller from a player on the button.

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} Lapossie continued for 5,500 and got a call. The turn card {4-Hearts} saw Lapossie bet 15,000 and once more get a call. On the river {a-Hearts} Lapossie fired a third barrel for 20,000 and his opponent moved all in for a total of 83,200.

Lapossie gave it some serious thought; after all he had made some fairly light but correct calls so far today. In the end though he let this one go.

Mackey Down to Dust

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

James Mackey raised all-in from the cutoff for 53,300 chips and the small blind looked him up. Mackey had 5,300 chips more than his opponent so couldn't be eliminated, although losing would see his tournament be all but over.

Mackey: {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Small blind: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The five community cards fell {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Mackey was left with a couple of big blinds.

Ace-High Is Good For Lapossie

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Matthew Lapossie
Matthew Lapossie

Matthew Lapossie was first to act from his seat in the cutoff and he opened with a raise and then called when James Mackey re-raised from the button.

Once both blinds folded, the dealer spread the {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop. Lapossie check-called a 10,000 bet from Mackey. That was the last of the betting action because both players checked the {2-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Hearts} river, Lapossie taking the pot down with {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Le Scoops Large Pot

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Nam Le was in the small blind and he tapped the table and checked the {2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{J-Clubs} board. Sunny Chattha, in the big blind, fired a bet of 7,900 only to see Adam Lalopoulos raise from late position to 20,200. Le tank-called and Chattha mucked.

The river was the {9-Clubs} and Le led for 26,000.

"You've got a deuce. I know you've got a deuce," said Lalopoulos, "Can I ask him if he has a deuce?" Lalopoulos said to the dealer.

Eventually, after much consideration, Lalopoulos mucked. With that pot, Le now has 126,000 chips.

Geilich Breaks His Duck

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

This is Ludovic Geilich’s first time at the WSOP, although he is a regular on the European circuit, and his first cash. He told us at the break that he was going to playing as many tournament as he possibly can but for him this event has just come to an end.

There was an open for 6,000 and Geilich moved all in over the top dor 40,000. The big blind went in the tank but let his hand go and the button made the call turning over {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. Geilich showed {7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} comewhat to the surprise of the table.

The board ran out {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and Geilich headed off to collect what he hopes will be the first of many pay days.
