Owen Hits a Straight

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante
Adam Owen
Adam Owen

Alan Mastic raised to 1,000 from early position and Adam Owen in the small blind was the only caller.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Owen check-called the 1,000 bet of Mastic.

The turn brought them the {a-Diamonds}, Owen check-raised to 7,500 when Mastic bet 1,500.

Mastic looked at the bet and said with a smile while looking at the dealer: "Those look like more chips. I can't see."

The dealer confirmed that Owen had raised to 7,500 and Mastic quickly called.

The river completed the board with the {10-Hearts}, Owen continued with a bet of 18,500 and Mastic snap-called. Owen flipped over {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for the turned straight and that was enough for Mastic to muck his own hand. After paying Owen, Mastic is still sitting comfortably on a stack of around 150,000.

McKeehen Flushes Out Obst

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante
James Obst
James Obst

James Obst raised to 1,350 from under the gun and former Main Event champion Joe McKeehen called in middle position. The big blind also called and the three players saw a flop of {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

Obst decided against putting out a continuation bet, so it checked to McKeehen who bet 2,100. The big blind folded and Obst made the call.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was the {7-Diamonds}. Obst checked to McKeehen who bet 7,000. Obst check-raised to 20,000 and McKeehen snap-called, muttering that he "definitely wasn't folding a flush." His opponent didn't hear this, and showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} but mucked when McKeehen, true to his word, turned over {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a rivered flush.

The dealer instructed both players to show their cards.

Jonathan Duhamel: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Anthony Zinno: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Duhamel had flopped a set of sevens which beat the flopped top two pair of Zinno. The dealer counted out Duhamel's stack and it was confirmed that Zinno had to pay 31,275. Right after having paid the double-up, Zinno was moved to a new table.
