Daniel Buzgon Eliminated in 18th Place ($8,296)

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Daniel Buzgon
Daniel Buzgon

Shortly before the break, Daniel Buzgon's tournament came to an end against Matt Woodward. Short-stacked, Buzgon got his final few chips in the middle.

Daniel Buzgon: {A-}{Q-}{8-}{3-}
Matt Woodward: {A-}{K-}{9-}{3-}

The hands ran pretty similar in equity to start out, but it was Buzgon who took a big lead on the {A-}{8-}{3-} flop by flopping three pairs. The {10-} turn was safe for him but the {K-} on the river paired one of Woodwards better kickers.

Buzgon was off in 18th place and collected $8,296 as the other players went on break.

Shulman Chops up a Profit

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

In one of the last hands of the level, Jeff Shulman ended up all in and at risk against Julien Martini and Mack Lee. The duo checked the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop and the {3-Diamonds} turn. After the {K-Hearts} river, one bet and a call followed and both Martini and Lee showed ace-jack for a straight.

Shulman had {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for a flush and scooped the high pot to chip up.

Martini Puts Haack in Danger; Woodward Halved

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

On a {9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{A-Spades} board, Brian Haack bet, William Kopp folded and Julien Martini called. On the {2-Clubs} river, Haack bet, Martini raised and Haack paid it off.

Martini rolled over {A-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} for a wheel, Haack mucked and slipped 120,000.

At the other table, Matt Woodward and Tammer Ilcaffas were involved in a showdown. The board read {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Ilcaffas had {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} in front of him. Woodward stared at the board for more than ten seconds, but couldn't figure out any way to win and mucked.

Bjorin Gets Some Back

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

One last hand was still played before the imminent redraw and that one saw Chris Bjorin all in out of the big blind. Three other players were in the hand in Christopher Roth in the hijack, Kate Hoang in the cutoff and William Kopp on the button. At the end of the board {Q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{8-Clubs} Kopp and Roth remained in to play for the bigger side pot while Bjorin scooped the high pot with {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

Roth had {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a low and Kopp the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}.

Robert Campbell Eliminated in 19th Place ($6,764)

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Robert Campbell
Robert Campbell

Robert Campbell ended up all in and at risk with the {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and was called by Matt Woodward with the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

The {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop brought the remainder of the chips in and Campbell was in prime shape to scoop the entire pot. The {10-Spades} turn changed nothing much, but the {K-Diamonds} river gave Woodward a winning flush to eliminate Campbell in 19th place.

The Stacks Get Very Shallow

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Robert Campbell chopped with chip leader Rafael Concepcion when his {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Spades} for the low and straight on the {Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop could not earn the full payout. Concepcion had {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for the full house and claimed half of the pot.

Danny Wong called a bet by Kate Hoang on the {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, then checked the {Q-Spades} turn. Hoang bet and Wong folded to drop down to 65,000 and into the small blind the next hand. Wong ended up all in for his last 5,000 after the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs} turn, Chris Bjorin in the big blind called.

Danny Wong: {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Chris Bjorin: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

The {K-Spades} on the river ensured the double up for Wong, as Bjorin could not improve to a high hand and had the inferior low.

Hoang Scoops Kopp

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

In a three-way pot to the {K-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} river, Chad Eveslage faced a bet by William Kopp and reluctantly folded. Kate Hoang was still to act and called to see Kopp roll over {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} for a flush. Hoang had that beat with {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} for the superior flush and scooped the pot.
