Laplante in Action Already

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

The player in the cutoff raised and Ryan Laplante defended his big blind. On the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop Laplante check-called a bet before repeating the action on the {9-Diamonds} turn.

"I hate that card," joked Laplante's opponent after the {j-Spades} river fell, and both players had checked.

Opponent: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Laplante: {j-}{X-}

"You hate that card?" Laplante jokingly smiled, after his opponent had shown two pair.

"Yeah, I thought it hit you" laughed his opponent.

"I was on a draw," replied Laplante, after showing a single jack in his hand and mucking.

Lake Busts Two, McKeehen Out

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

We arrived to Mike Lake’s table in time to see him busting two players in one hand.

Holding king-queen, Lake had made two pair as there was both a king and queen on the board. That beat McKeehen’s ace-king as well as the third player’s pocket eights.

Cigliuti Takes One

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Natalia Cigliuti raised from middle position and Michael Vansickle, in the cutoff, was the only player to call her. Both players checked on the {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop before Cigliuti's bet was called on the {k-Spades} turn.

Cigliuti bet again on the {3-Diamonds} river and received a call. Cigliuti tabled {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for two pair, and Vansickle mucked.

Mike Ross

On a raised pot, the flop was showing {7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Mike Ross check-called for 200 his opponent's bet.

Both players checked on the {2-Clubs} turn. The river was a {k-Spades} and Ross bet, which was enough to grab the pot without resistance.

Ross, the runner-up of last year $1,500 8-Game Mix 6-Handed event, now has a stack worth 13,500 chips.
