Howell Cheek was down to just 9,000 in chips when he got it in from the big blind. Mike Matusow had opened from early position and all other players folded.

In the next hand, action folded to Cheek in the small blind who stuck it in again. Doug Lorgeree called the few extra chips from the big blind.

Landowski Doubles Through Mizrachi

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Ben Landowski opened with a raise on the button before Robert Mizrachi reraised from the small blind. Action folded back to Landowski and he moved all in. Mizrachi called.

The board ran out {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and Landowski's jacks held up as the best hand, allowing him to double up.

Volpe Builds Stack

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Tai Nguyen raised and Paul Volpe three-bet, which Nguyen called. On the {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, Nguyen checked and Volpe bet to pick up a call. The {9-Hearts} fell on the turn and Nguyen checked before folding to a second bet.

Volpe raised once more to see Daniel Alaei on the button three-bet, Volpe called. The {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop brought a check-raise by Volpe and Alaei called before folding to a bet of Volpe on the {Q-Spades} turn.

Howell Cheek had folded both times to forfeit the blinds and was left with just 9,000. Right after that, Nguyen joined the rail and the field was reduced to the last 36 hopefuls in order to break a table.

Ryynanen Scoops Up Martin

Jesse Martin raised under the gun and action folded around to the big blind where Sampo Ryynanen called.

The flop was {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Ryynanen checked to Martin who bet, and Ryynanen called.

The turn was the {Q-Hearts} and Ryynanen check-called another bet from Martin.

Both players checked on the {K-Spades} river. Ryynanen showed {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a flush and that earned him the pot when Martin mucked.

Lorgeree Left Short by Bjorin

In a battle of the short stacks, Chris Bjorin check-called a big bet from Doug Lorgeree on {2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, leaving himself with 14,000 behind.

The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Bjorin shoved his final chips in. Lorgeree was visibly unpleased with the situation, and mulled it over for a good minute before open-folding {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Volpe Scoops White

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Action folded around to the button where Paul Volpe raised and Talon White defended from the big blind.

The flop was {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades} and White led out with a bet that Volpe called. White bet again on the {5-Diamonds} turn and Volpe called once more.

On the {K-Spades} river, White checked. Volpe bet and White called.

"Nut straight," Volpe said revealing his {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. That earned him the pot and he chipped up to almost 400,000.

Ramos Denied a Double

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

John Monnette has been eliminated and shortly after, Felipe Ramos was all in and in prime shape to score the full double against Jose Paz-Gutierrez.

Ramos had raised on the button and Paz-Gutierrez three-bet out of the big blind, Ramos called. On the {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Paz-Gutierrez bet and Ramos raised, which resulted in a call. The {7-Hearts} appeared on the turn and Paz-Gutierrez check-called all in.

Elezra Chopped Up

Action was on the river with the board showing {10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{A-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and over 100,000 in the pot. Mike Gorodinsky checked. Scott Bohlman put out a bet. Eli Elezra was on the button he called before Mike Gorodinsky raised. Scott Bohlman just called and Elezra called as well.

Gorodinsky showed his {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts} for the nut low. Bohlman showed {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs} for aces full. Elezra revealed his {A-Spades}{J-}{4-}{3-} for a full house as well and it was mucked as he had the losing hand. Gorodinsky and Bohlman then chopped the pot.

Elezra Comes Out Firing After Break

The stream of the feature table in Brasilia has ended and players are back in the Amazon Tan section again. In one of the first hands after the break, Eli Elezra scooped a pot off Ben Landowski.

After check-calling the turn on {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, Elezra led out on the {2-Hearts} river and Landowski called.

"Wheel," announced Elezra, who flung open {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Landowski mucked and was left short.

Zhukov Takes from Bjorin

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Chris Bjorin raised first to act and was called by Viacheslav Zhukov on the button. Bjorin check-raised the {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop and Zhukov called before Bjorin bet the {Q-Diamonds} turn, Zhukov called.

Both players opted to check the {Q-Clubs} on the river and Bjorin flashed his {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} first. Zhukov tabled {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} for trips queens and Bjorin mucked.
