Triple Up for Brown

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

There was some confusion about the correct amounts over on table 481 after Robert Brown had held up with {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} against the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} of Joseph Comins and the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} of Robert Goldbaum. Eventually, Brown's triple up for some 18,000 was confirmed while Comins won the small side pot.

Apparently, Goldbaum had shoved on the flop and Comins called with the open-ended straight flush draw. However, Brown's aces held up on a board of {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs} and the amounts were settled after a mere minute.

Anderson Looks into Trips

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

On the turn of {K-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, Calvin Anderson had the button and faced an 18,000-bet from a player in the big blind. Anderson tossed in calling chips and the river came {Q-Clubs}. Both players checked and Anderson was shown {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. He couldn't beat that and continued with 49,000.

Well-Timed Double for Bonomo

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

As the film crews hovered around Justin Bonomo and the rest of his table, Bonomo gave them exactly what they were looking for. A double up.

Bonomo's all in was for 52,100 and he had tabled the nuts with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} on an {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} board. Richard Turner, Bonomo's heads-up opponent, matched the wager after rivering a straight with {j-}{9-} off-suit.

Nguyen Keeps Winning

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Truyen Nguyen
Truyen Nguyen

Bart Lybaert raised to 2,000 from early position and three people called, including Day 1a chip leader Truyen Nguyen from the big blind.

The flop came down {6-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Nguyen took the initiative and lead out with a bet of 2,500. Lybaert and another player folded, but the player on the button called.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Nguyen threw in 13,000. The player on the button folded and Nguyen added some more to his already big stack.

Show for Show

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Ali Imsirovic was on the button, tangling with a player in the big blind. The action was on Imsirovic with the turn reading {J-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Imsirovic fired 7,800 and his opponent folded after a while.

"I'll show if you show," Imsirovic offered and the other player turned up {K-}{6-}. Imsirovic rolled over {A-}{Q-} for a flopped Broadway.

Wien Doesn't Get a Call

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

There was about 27,000 in the middle already and the flop read {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{q-Spades}. The player in the hijack had bet 22,000 and Jeremy Wien raised to 53,000 from the cutoff. His opponent tanked for a while, even got up from his chair. After a while, he open-folded {a-}{k-}. Wien showed {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

Van Zadelhoff Loses One, But Going Up

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Steven van Zadelhoff
Steven van Zadelhoff

Steven van Zadelhoff started the day with a stack already worth more than 100,000 and he's been chipping up nicely in the first two levels so far.

In the last hand, Van Zadelhoff called from the button after a player in middle position raised to 1,800. Van Zadelhoff called another bet of 2,800 on the {4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{K-Spades} flop and both checked the {Q-Clubs} turn. The river was the {J-Hearts} and Van Zadelhoff's opponent bet a chunky 7,100 and the Dutchman folded.

Despite losing this hand Van Zadelhoff still has been slowly growing his stack throughout the day so far.
