Lybaert Nearing the 10M Mark

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

In the last hand before the break, Alexander Lynskey opened from the hijack and Bart Lybaert defended his big blind. The flop was {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and Lybaert check-called 50,000 from Lynskey.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and Lybaert opted to lead out for 400,000, more than the size of the pot. Lynskey called the bet in position.

The hand caught the ESPN crew's attention and the camera's swooped in as the rest of the field already went on break. The river brought the {8-Diamonds} and Lybaert checked to Lynskey. The Australian cut out a bet of 675,000, and Lybaert quickly flicked in two chips to indicate a call.

Lynskey turned over {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for Broadway, but it was second best as Lybaert revealed {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for the nut flush to scoop up the sizable pot and extend his lead even further.

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

After an open to 90,000 from early position, Ming Xi made it 365,000 a couple of seats over. Danny Qutami jammed in the cutoff for 1,330,000 and Xi thought a bit and slid in a call.

Ming Xi: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Danny Qutami: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The jacks held as {q-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{k-Hearts} rolled off the deck.

Ostapchenko Eliminated by Goncalves

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

On a flop of {J-Spades}{2-Spades}{J-Diamonds}, Andrew Ostapchenko found himself all in for his last 2,250,000 against Paulo Goncalves.

Goncalves: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}
Ostapchenko: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

Ostapchenko found himself in a great shape to double through as Goncalves had to fade an ace or running spades.

The dealer delivered the {4-Spades} on the turn to give Goncalves some hope, and when the {5-Spades} completed the board on the river, Ostapchenko would find himself at the wrong end of a bad beat and was eliminated from the Main Event.

Lowery Tries a Move on Da-Silva

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Randy Lowery checked a board of {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{a-Clubs} from under the gun and Chris Da-Silva bet 70,000. Lowery made it what looked like 225,000 and Da-Silva shoved all in for Lowery's last 950,000 or so. He instantly folded.

Lybaert Moves into Chip Lead

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Bart Lybaert
Bart Lybaert

Belgian Bart Lybaert has been using the MyStack app, and we caught up with him briefly after his stack jumped up to 8,500,000.

According to Lybaert it all came down to two hands. First, a player opened and Lybaert raised to 300,000 on the button. His opponent called. The flop came {q-}{10-}{4-} with two clubs. Lybaert continued for 350,000 and his opponent moved all in for 1,200,000. Lybaert called with {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the nut flush draw, and the {5-Clubs} on the turn helped him best the {j-}{j-} of his opponent.

Then in a different hand, Lybaert raised from under the gun to 100,000 and got one caller before the cutoff squeezed to 400,000. Lybaert four-bet to 900,000 and the caller folded.

The cutoff then five-bet all in for 2,500,000 and Lybaert called. Lybaert held {a-}{a-} and his opponent {k-}{k-}.

"And aces held?" we asked Lybaert.

The Belgian smiled and pointed towards his stack. "What do you think?"
