Kaplan Eliminates Shevelev, Doubles Through Amin

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Aleksandr Shevelev
Aleksandr Shevelev

With {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} having flopped, the blinds checked to Aleksandr Shevelev in the cutoff, and he bet 150,000. Jaime Kaplan called in the small blind and big blind Ahmed Amin made it 650,000. Shevelev jammed for 1,465,000 and Kaplan shipped as well, for 2,395,000. Amin thought awhile but decided he couldn't get away.

Ahmed Amin: {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Jaime Kaplan: {5-Spades}{4-Spades}
Aleksandr Shevelev: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Kaplan had the best of it and it stayed that way on the {3-Spades} turn and {7-Diamonds} river. Shevelev wished everyone good luck and Amin sent over a good chunk of his chips.

Jensen's Flush Sends Nguyen to the Rail

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Peter Nguyen
Peter Nguyen

Frederik Jensen raised to 180k from under the gun and Peter Nguyen three-bet to 425k from middle position. The action folded back around to Jensen, and he moved all in for 1.5m. Nguyen had fewer chips than Jensen but made the call to put his tournament life on the line.

Frederik Jensen: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Peter Nguyen: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Board: {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Nguyen found himself in a dominated position and needed a lot of help from the board, but it was Jensen who improved. The flop brought the spade nut flush draw for Jensen and when the jack of spades hit the turn the hand was over and Nguyen's exit was confirmed. Nguyen takes 83rd place for $77,695.

Hutter Gets Value From Jukich; Hecklen Doubles Through Fletcher

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

On the river of a completed board of {K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{A-Clubs}, Mike Jukich checked and Barry Hutter bet for more than the pot, making it 1,085,000 to go. That amount represented almost half of Jukich's remaining stack and he called after some consideration. Hutter rolled over the {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a flush and that won the pot.

Over on table 441, moments later, Clayton Fletcher raised to 200,000 on the button. Henrik Hecklen moved all in for 1,340,000 and Fletcher called. Once the camera crews had rushed by, the showdown proceeded with the following cards:

Henrik Hecklen: {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Clayton Fletcher: {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop gave Hecklen middle pair and he locked up the double with the {A-Hearts} turn.

"That's a good card for you," Fletcher joked, with a smile on the face, while the meaningless {5-Clubs} river completed the board.

Robinson Bluffs it Off to Fletcher

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Richard Robinson was on the button and bet 675,000 after it got checked to him on a {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} board. Clayton Fletcher, who was under the gun, check-called the bet.

On the {2-Clubs} river, Fletcher checked, Robinson shoved for 2,500,000, and Fletcher called it off without hesitation.

Richard Robinson: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}
Clayton Fletcher: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

Robinson wasn't able to shake Fletcher's pocket kings and his Main Event run ended in 84th place ($77,695).

More Chips for Fox; Chip Counts from Table 427

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

On a {9-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop, with over a million in the pot already, Jorden Fox shoved all in putting Mason Barrell to the test. Barrell agonized over his decision for several minutes before folding.

Fox turned over {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} seemingly to put Barrell out of his misery after a long and tortuous tank.

"How can you call the guy who has the nuts every time?" asked one of his tablemates.

Palevic Doubles Through Zhu

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Cameras were called to Table 447 so we came upon an all-in pot there with Yueqi Zhu under the gun having Rifat Palevic at risk from a couple of seats over. Zhu was crushed with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Palevic had {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and was standing up. The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, good for a double.

After the hand, a player told us the all-in shove was for 930,000.

Manion Gets Some River Love to Double Through Hecklen

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Henrik Hecklen opened to 180,0000 from middle position, Nicolas Manion three-bet shoved for 750,000 from the big bind and Hecklen called with {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, racing with Manion's {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

The flop came down {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, giving Hecklen the lead with top two pair The {10-Diamonds} turn changed nothing, but the {7-Clubs} river fell to give Manion a set of sevens to double through Hecklen.

Sharukh Shaw - Out
Sharukh Shaw - Out

Sharukh Shaw made it 180,000 to go and Chanracy Khun three-bet to 485,000, which Roger Lussier in the big blind called. Shaw then moved all in for 2,610,000 and Khun called, which forced out Lussier.

Sharukh Shaw: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Chanracy Khun: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

"You folded queens too?" Shaw joked to Lussier, who just shook his head. The board ran out {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Shaw failed to get there after having previously doubled through Khun just a few minutes ago. Shaw was eliminated in 85th place and takes home $77,695 for his efforts.
