Hughes Defeats Epstein

Level 15 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

After his previous double up, Ryan Hughes had grinded down Alex Epstein to 13 big blinds and Epstein jammed with the {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Hughes called with {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and the board came {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{q-Spades} to give Hughes a full house and a ticket in the round of last 32.

Since Keith Lehr has also already advanced, Hughes and Lehr may start their next round very soon.

Leonard Defeats Polk to Advance to Round of 32

Level 14 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Following the turn of an {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} board, Patrick Leonard checked from the big blind and Doug Polk bet 6,500 from the button. Leonard check-raised all in with a covering stack and Polk sighed before he called all in for about 24,000 total.

Leonard showed {5-Spades}{3-Spades} for a flush, leading Polk's {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for top two pair.

The river was the {4-Hearts}, no help to Polk, locking up a seat in the Round of 32 for Leonard.

Baumstein Defeats Bonomo

Level 14 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Scott Baumstein opened to 2,000 on the button and Justin Bonomo shoved all in for his last 35,100. Baumstein asked for a count and thought for over a minute before making the call.

Scott Baumstein: {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Justin Bonomo: {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} which wasn't good for Bonomo who would have gladly taken a chop at this point. The {7-Diamonds} on the turn and the {j-Hearts} on the river meant Baumstein's kicker played and the defending champion was eliminated in the Round of 64.

Schindler and McConnon Leading on Table 433

Level 14 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Benjamin Jones raised to 2,500 on the button and Jake Schindler defended. The flop came {k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and both players checked to the {10-Hearts} on the turn. Schindler led out for 3,500 and Jones called to see the {9-Hearts} on the river. Schindler fired another 10,000 and Jones looked him up. Schindler flipped over {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for a straight and Jones mucked.

Also at their table, Jason McConnon raised to 2,500 and Phil Hellmuth called. The flop fell {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Hellmuth checked to McConnon who continued for 3,000. Hellmuth instantly check-raised to 6,000 and McConnon called.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and Hellmuth fired out another 8,500. McConnon called again and the {q-Clubs} completed the board. Hellmuth checked this time and McConnon slid out a bet of 65,000. Hellmuth laid his hand down and McConnon showed the bluff with {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Garcia Defeats Morgenstern

Level 14 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

The dealer announced a winner on table 420 and Anton Morgenstern was spotted on his way out while Cord Garcia claimed the chips and advanced to the round of 32. According to Garcia, Morgenstern was down to 18,600 when he jammed with {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Garcia called with {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

A queen on the flop gave Morgenstern the lead, but Garcia turned the nut straight to punch his ticket for the next round.

"I ran pretty pure in this one," Garcia added with a smile.

Joining the action on the {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} turn, Anton Morgenstern bet 16,000 and Cord Garcia raised it up to 40,000. Morgenstern reluctantly folded and Garcia had previously offered to show his cards if Morgenstern was to do the same.
