Muehloecker Doubles Up

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Thomas Muehloecker just doubled up and was kind enough to relate what had happened:

Muehloecker opened from under-the-gun and was called by two other players. The flop came {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} on which they all checked to see the {3-Diamonds} on the turn. Muehloecker bet 2,200 and was called by one of his opponents.

The river completed the board with the {5-Spades}, Muehloecker checked, his opponent bet. Muehloecker raised to 16,000, his opponent shoved, having Muehloecker covered who called for the 58,600 he had behind.

Muehloecker had {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for the straight flush while his opponent held {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the nut-flush.

One for Morgenstern

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

The board read {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs} with 23,000 in the middle already.

The player in the under-the-gun position bet 18,000 and Anton Morgenstern was sitting in mid-position. Morgenstern contemplated for a bit before making the call. Morgenstern's opponent showed {a-}{q-} for the flopped pair of aces but was beat by Morgenstern who held {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} who had rivered two pair.

Mateos Wins From Wasserson

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Eric Wasserson raised from the under-the-gun position and Adrian Mateos called in the hijack to see the flop come {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Spades}, on which both players checked.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Wasserson checked again. Mateos now bet 1,700 and Wasserson called.

The river completed the board with the {k-Clubs} on which both players quickly checked. Wasserson tabled {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the flopped pair of jacks but his hand was bested by Mateos' {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} who had turned two pair.
