Queens Are Good for Martini

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Stud

Julien Martini: {x-}{x-} / {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} / {x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} / {x-}

Julien Martini called bets on sixth and fifth and sixth street and then checked down seventh in a heads-up pot. His opponent said "queens are good" and indeed Martini showed {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a pair of queens, which beat the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} of his opponent.

Mueller Chops With Gola

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Greg Mueller: {x-}{x-} / {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} / {x-}
Jason Gola: {x-}{x-} / {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Spades} / {x-}
Nicholas Seiken: {x-}{x-} / {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} fold
Anthony Zinno: {x-}{x-} / {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades} fold

Greg Mueller completed with an ace and was called three ways. Jason Gola check-raised fourth with an ace-seven showing and Mueller called, while Nicholas Seiken and Anthony Zinno folded. Gola bet all further streets and Mueller eventually called to get shown {a-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} for a flush and a low by Gola.

Mueller revealed {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for the superior low and took half of the pot.

Zinno, who had been partially involved in the hand, was down to as low as 10,000 earlier and has since bumped his stack above the average.

Shorr Left Short in Razz

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Shannon Shorr
Shannon Shorr

Razz

Shannon Shorr: {x-}{x-} / {6-}{5-}{k-}{k-} fold
Scott Clements: {x-}{x-} / {2-}{6-}{a-}{a-}

Shannon Shorr was left with just a few big bets after he took on Scott Clements in a Razz hand. Clements fired on fifth and sixth, which resulted in a call by Shorr on the former street and fold on the latter. That reduced the stack of Shorr by quite some and he will need a double or triple up very soon.

Clements, in the meanwhile, is among the biggest stacks in the room late in level eight.

Roland Israelashvili paired his ace on sixth and bet, which James Chen called. Israelasvili then check-called a bet and Chen nodded when he saw the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{9-Spades} for aces and kings by Israelasvili.
