Nguyen Wins With Big Slick

Level 4 : 300/500, 500 ante
Qui Nguyen
Qui Nguyen

Gregory Back checked a {q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} board over to Qui Nguyen, who bet 7,000 into a pot of 16,000. Back called after a minute in the tank.

Both players checked the {q-Diamonds} river, and Back showed {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for queens up. Nguyen's {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for kings up were good enough to take down the pot.

DiMartino Isn't Shook By the Speech

Level 4 : 300/500, 500 ante

Todd DiMartino raised to 1,500 from early position, then called a three-bet to 4,300 from an opponent in the big blind.

The big blind bet 3,600 on the {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, and DiMartino raised to 8,600. The big blind called.

The {5-Hearts} turn was checked by the big blind, and DiMartino bet 10,000. The big blind called again.

On the {10-Hearts} river, the big blind checked, and Dimartino jammed for 31,000.

"It's going to take a little while, gentlemen," the big blind said, then followed up with, "I think you have a huge hand! Great flop for your pocket jacks...nines..."

The big blind then traced his finger across the board, pointing at the {10-Hearts} and said, "Could have that...two of them."

"You gonna show if I fold?" the big blind asked DiMartino, who remained silent. "If not, I might call. What do you think?"

After a few more moments, the big blind folded, tabling {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.

"Are you f***ing kidding me? What took you so long?" DiMartino told his opponent, showing a single {3-Spades} from his hand before mucking.
