Pollak Flummoxed By Bauer

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Kevin Pollak raised to 1,400 from under the gun, and only Thomas Bauer in the big blind called.

Both players checked the {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} flop, and Bauer bet 2,500 on the {7-Hearts} turn. Pollak called.

Bauer bet 4,500 on the {10-Hearts} river, sending Pollak deep into the tank.

"Your story is that you flopped a flush?" Pollak asked Bauer. "If you don't have a flush, you lose."

Bauer remained nonplussed, even after Pollak took a few moments to stare Bauer down. A few minutes passed before a clock was called, and with a few seconds left on the clock, Pollak folded {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} faceup. Bauer mucked without showing and took down the pot.

Dentale Chops

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Picking up the action after the turn of a {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades} board with about 19,000 in the pot, Mike Dentale was all in from middle position and was called by the player on his left. Alex Kostritsyn had check-raised to 37,000 from the big blind and the third player in the hand reraised all in for about 65,000.

Kostritsyn tanked for a bit before he folded.

Dentale showed {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, while the third player in the hand showed {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the same wheel.

Dentale was freerolling, but the river was the {8-Hearts} to chop the pot.

Kostritsyn said he folded a spade straight-flush draw.

Antonelli Stuns a Foe

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

A player raised to 2,000 from the hijack, and the cutoff called. Jason Antonelli on the button three-bet to 7,000, and only the hijack called.

Both players checked the {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop, and the hijack bet 6,000 on the {k-Spades} turn. Antonelli called.

Both players checked again on the {k-Hearts} river, and the hijack hesitantly showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a bricked gutshot straight draw. Antonelli turned over {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for ace-high and the winner, prompting a, "Wow, oh my God!" from the hijack.

Varkonyi Shoves Out Better Hand

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

On a flop of {3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} Robert Varkonyi and Steven Tabb went to the turn after the two other players in the hand folded. The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and Varkonyi immediately moved all in.

Tabb shook his head and said "You must have made the nuts" and thought it over for a few more seconds "If it helps you at all, I'll show if you fold" said Varkonyi. Tabb folded shortly after the comment from Varkonyi.

Varkonyi turned over the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} for a turned set but no diamond. "Was that good?" he asked Tabb who shook his head no and Varkonyi collected the chips.

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Hakim Zoufri raised from the cutoff to 1,300 and Nick Petrangelo folded on the button. Andy Eastom called from the small blind and the player in the big blind called as well.

The flop was {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and it checked to Zoufri who continued with a bet of 2,200. Eastom called and the big blind folded.

The turn was the {k-Spades} and Eastom check-called another bet by Zoufri who put 3,700 in front of him this time. The river was the {10-Spades} and Eastom checked for the third time to the Dutchman who checked behind on the river.
