Jacks Are Good for Bayly

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Chris Bayly raised to 2,800 under the gun and the player in the hijack three-bet to 9,500. Action folded back to Bayly who added the remainder to call.

The dealer spread a flop of {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Bayly checked. The hijack bet 5,500 and Bayly check-called. The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and was checked through to the {7-Hearts} river. Both players checked again. Bayly tabled {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and his opponent mucked.

River Bet Works for Wertz

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Joseph Wertz raised to 2,700 from early position and was called by the players in the hijack and big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and the big blind checked. Wertz made a continuation-bet of 4,200 and the hijack folded. The big blind thought for over a minute before calling.

The turn fell {4-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was {k-Spades}, bringing two pair to the board and the big blind checked once more. Wertz put in a T$5,000 chip and the big blind quickly folded.

Cody Baffles an Opponent

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

There was a pot of 7,800 next to a {8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{q-Clubs} board, and Jake Cody had his last 33,100 in the middle from the big blind, the result of a raising war between him and the player in the hijack, who had 16,000 already committed. The hijack tanked for a minute before reluctantly releasing his hand.

"You didn't really do that with just a nine, did you?" Cody's opponent asked, but Cody didn't respond.

Xu Moves All In

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The player in the cutoff had a bet worth 8,000 in front of him and was facing an all in for 47,000 from Haoyu Xu in the big blind.

Xu's opponent looked uncomfortable with the decision he was facing and double checked his holding several times while in the tank.

As Xu sat silently for close to 90 seconds while waiting to see what his opponent would do, he finally got his answer as he saw the cards hit the muck.

Xu took in the pot and moved up to 58,000.

Franklin Takes From Sawa

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a {6-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Spades} flop Ryan Franklin bet 9,300 and Rudolph Sawa called. The pair checked the {8-Diamonds} river and Franklin shrugged, turning over {2-Spades}{5-Spades} for a baby flush.

Sawa appeared irritated, showing {k-}{q-} for top pair as he sent his cards into the muck.

Hoang Adds to his Stack

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Ngon Hoang raised to 2,800 from the early position and the player on the button called along with the small blind and the big blind.

The flop fell {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and the blinds checked. Hoang bet 5,400 and the button folded. The small blind check-called and the big blind folded.

The turn came the {q-Spades} and was checked through to the {q-Clubs} river. The small blind checked for a third time and Hoang fired 5,000.

"Good hand sir," commented the player in the small blind while throwing in a chip to call.

Indeed, Hoang tabled {a-Spades}{k-Spades} to win the pot with kings and queens and his opponent sent his hand to the muck.
