Cai Retires Seymour from 2019 Main Event

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour

Richard Seymour moved all in from the button for 725,000. Small blind Zhen Cai called and action was on Anuj Agarwal in the big. He tanked a couple of minutes then announced all in. Cai had about 2 million more that he quickly called off.

Richard Seymour: {k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Zhen Cai: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Anuj Agarwal: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The {2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Clubs} flop pulled Seymour well in front, but his equity surge was short-lived as Cai pumped his fist when the {q-Spades} hit on the turn, locking up the pot for him. Seymour found useless trips on the {k-Spades} river and took his leave.

Stewart Departs From the Feature Table; Kim Above 10 Million

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Jiwoon Kim
Jiwoon Kim

Jarred Solomon opened to 130,000 and Jiwoon Kim called on the button, as did Antonio Esfandiari in the small blind. Casey Stewart in the big blind raised to 660,000 and that was called by Kim only.

They checked through a flop of {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades} and the {2-Diamonds} turn saw a check of Stewart, a bet of 600,000 by Kim and a call.

On the {8-Spades} river, Stewart check-called another bet of 800,000 and Kim tabled {j-Spades}{9-Hearts} for a queen-high straight to win the pot.

Shortly after, Stewart three-bet all in for 1,200,000 in the small blind and initial raiser Esfandiari made the call.

Casey Stewart: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Antonio Esfandiari: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop gave Esfandiari top set and the {4-Spades} turn and {2-Clubs} river were a formality.

Right after, Kim amped up the aggression some more and four-bet to 1,000,000 versus Esfandiari, who folded and was shown an ace-king.

Pizza Party at Table 488

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Pizza Party
Pizza Party

Joe Hachem arrived at Table 488 to greet his son Daniel with a few pizzas just after the last break. Daniel opened up the boxes and started handing out slices of pepperoni pizza to everyone at his table.

"Make sure you get some napkins!" one of the tournament directors instructed.

"Can't just bring pizza for yourself," Joe stated. "Gotta bring enough for everyone."

Daniel raked in another massive pot when he eliminated Dmitry Yurasov and turned towards his father. "Good pizza, Dad. Thanks."

Perfect Board for Hachem Dooms Yurasov

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Dmitry Yurasov
Dmitry Yurasov

Jill Bryant bet 200,000 on a {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{a-Spades}{5-Spades} board from the big blind. Dmitry Yurasov called from under the gun and Daniel Hachem made it 700,000 from a couple of seats over, in between bites of pizza. Bryant folded but Yurasov stuffed it for about 1.1 million. Unfortunately for him, he was met with a quick call as Hachem held {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the nuts.

Yurasov was drawing live with {a-}{q-} but the {6-Diamonds} river had him knuckling the table in submission.

Kim Busts Beasy in Big Pot

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Joseph Beasy
Joseph Beasy

Jiwoon Kim opened to 125,000 just before the blinds went up and he was called two ways by Joseph Beasy in the hijack and Ian Pelz on the button. On the {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop, Kim checked and Beasy made it 200,000 to go in order to force a fold from Pelz and receive a call from Kim.

The {9-Clubs} fell on the turn and Kim check-raised from 500,000 to 1,000,000, which then prompted a shove for 3,370,000 by Beasy. Kim called and that created a massive pot on the main feature table.

Joseph Beasy: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Jiwoon Kim: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Beasy's turned two pair had him in desperate shape and he failed to hit a miracle on the blank {7-Spades} river.

Bohlman Runs Big Slick Into Aces

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Scott Bohlman
Scott Bohlman

It took a couple of preflop raises but Scott Bohlman and Henry Lu found a way to get all of their chips in the middle before any community cards were dealt. Bohlman was the player at risk for 2,095,000 chips and didn't like the result when the cards were tabled.

Scott Bohlman: {a-}{k-}
Henry Lu: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and Bohlman was ousted from the Main Event. Lu has climbed to nearly 5 million chips after being down to just 200,000 before the dinner break.

Friedman Exits with a Smile

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Adam Friedman returned from the break with a little over 500,000 chips and he wasted no time getting them in the middle. Christopher Sly re-shoved all in from the cutoff and the rest of the table folded.

Adam Friedman: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Christopher Sly: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

"Bryce Yockey! Get over here!" Friedman yelled across the room. "This is the best hand I've had in hours."

"This one's easy," Yockey said as he joined the rail.

The dealer fanned the flop of {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} which didn't look good for Friedman. "Fuck you this is easy," Friedman said with a laugh. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn left him drawing dead to the {q-Spades} on the river.

"I guess I'll be playing poker for a living next year," Friedman announced as he exited the tournament area.

One More Break

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

The tournament clock is currently showing 150 players still remaining with 20:00 to go in the fourth level of the day. The players are being sent on another 15-minute break. When they return, they will play one more level before a decision is made on whether to continue playing afterward.

Here is a look at what happened in the past two hours on the felt:

The 888poker Qualifiers Strike Twice

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Mihai Manole
Mihai Manole

On the secondary feature table, Jordan Knackstedt raised to 100,000 and Mihai Manole on the button three-bet to 300,000. Knackstedt four-bet jammed for 1,575,000 and Manole quickly called.

Jordan Knackstedt: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Mihai Manole: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board came {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the queens held up to send Knackstedt to the rail.

The third feature table also saw another 888poker qualifier in action as Sam Greenwood took on Giovanni Petroni in a preflop all in.

Giovanni Petroni: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Sam Greenwood: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The kicker played on the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} board and Petroni followed Knackstedt to the rail.
