The flop came {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, Duta check-called the 90,000 continuation-bet of Kay.

The turn brought them the {5-Diamonds}, Duta checked, Kay continued with a bet of 280,000, Duta responded with a raise to 775,000. Kay shoved for around 2,000,000 in total which Duta snap-called with {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for the straight while Kay held {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a set.

The river completed the board with the {k-Clubs} to keep Duta ahead and jump towards the top of the chip counts while eliminating Kay.

Take Another Break

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Romain Lewis
Romain Lewis

The second level of the day has come to an end and the remaining 237 players are being sent on another 15-minute break. When they return, the blinds will be increased to 20,000/40,000 with a 40,000 big blind ante. Here is what happened since the dinner break:

Lewis Rises Up the Counts After Another KO

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Romain Lewis
Romain Lewis

In a three-bet pot between Romain Lewis and Gleb Kovtunov, the dealer fanned the flop of {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Lewis led out from the small blind for 150,000 and Kovtunov called in position.

The turn brought the {5-Hearts} and Lewis fired out another 375,000. Kovtunov still called and the {4-Hearts} completed the board. Lewis pushed out a stack of 100,000 chips, more than enough to cover Kovtunov's remaining 1,200,000 chips. Kovtunov dipped into the tank and eventually made the call.

Lewis confidently turned over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for two pair and Kovtunov reluctantly showed {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} before stepping away from the table.

Meier Trapped, Eliminated by Bogdanov

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Dylan Meier
Dylan Meier

After an early open to 75,000 and a call from Yulian Bogdanov, Dylan Meier made it 265,000 from late position. Action folded back to Bogdanov, who moved all in with a covering stack. Meier had about 900,000 and called it off with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Unfortunately for him, he'd run into a slowplayed monster as Bogdanov held {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

Meier asked for an ace one time, but the {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop delivered the one card he absolutely did not want to see. The {8-Clubs} turn left him dead to the {10-Hearts} river.

That was the end of a very special Main Event journey for Meier, which you can read about in this PokerNews feature.

Madsen Calls With Worst of It but Finds a Kind River

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

A board of {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} was spread across felt with around 550,000 in the middle. Jeff Madsen checked from middle position and Scott Wilson jammed all in for 680,000 just a couple of seats over.

"Really?" Madsen asked.

"Yeah. It's too late to take it back now," Wilson replied.

"That's true," Madsen nodded his head.

Some more table talk ensued as Madsen tried to figure out what his opponent held. Madsen eventually made the call and Wilson's tournament life was on the line.

Jeff Madsen: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Scott Wilson: {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Wilson's two pair was in the lead for the time being but the river brought the {q-Diamonds}. Madsen made a set of queens and Wilson's tournament run came to an end.
