Becker Shows the Bluff

Level 11 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Johannes Becker raised pre-flop, leaving himself just 9,000 behind, and Benny Glaser called from the big blind.

Glaser checked the {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} flop, then folded when Becker bet his remaining chips. Becker showed {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for jack-high.

"You're an animal," tablemate Chris Vitch told him. "You deserve Player of the Year. That was a great play."

Matusow Out the Door

Level 11 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Mike Matusow is the latest to be eliminated from the event after dueling again with John Monnette.

Matusow raised in middle position and was three-bet in the cutoff by Monnette. Action folded around to Matusow, who called.

The two short stacks saw a flop of {9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{q-Clubs}, which Matusow check-raised. Monnette put in one more bet to put Matusow all-in for his tournament life.

Mike Matusow: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
John Monnette: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Monnette's jacks were ahead, and the {k-Hearts}/{8-Spades} runout brought no help to Matusow who bemoaned not winning a pot all day as he left the tournament area.

Wasaya Finishes off Grimaldi

Level 11 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
