No Big Blind Special for Mateos

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Action folded to Manig Loeser who raised to 24,000 from the button and Adrian Mateos three-bet to 97,000 from the big blind.

Action was back on Loeser who four-bet jammed and Mateos called off his 350,000 stack.

Adrian Mateos: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Manig Loeser: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Mateos was behind holding live cards and the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop paired both players.

The {2-Spades} turn left Mateos needing either a king or queen to fall on the river, but the {7-Clubs} completed the board and ended his tournament.

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

The action folded around to Adrian Mateos in the small blind and he jammed all-in. Christian Roberts was in the big blind with only 62,000 remaining and called.

Christian Roberts: {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Adrian Mateos: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}, not improving either player and the {k-Clubs} came on the turn to give Mateos top pair while giving Roberts a flush draw. The {5-Diamonds} on the river wasn't what Roberts was looking for though and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Gross Gets Set of Aces Cracked to Go Home on Money Bubble

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Jeff Gross
Jeff Gross

Jeff Gross was all-in with a short stack on the button on the stone money bubble against John Gallaher in the big blind and the player in the cutoff.

The flop came out {2-Spades}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs} and both players checked. Gallaher bet out on the {a-Spades} turn and the player in the cutoff folded.

Gross and Gallaher kept their hands face-down as the floor confirmed that there were no other hands in progress, and both players took video of the situation.

"Am I really going to bust on the bubble with top set?" Gross said. "He has his mobile device out, I have to be behind."

Jeff Gross: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
John Gallaher: {6-Spades}{3-Spades}

Sure enough, Gross had top set but was behind the flush of his opponent. Gross needed the board to pair to be saved from elimination on the bubble but it didn't happen as the {6-Clubs} peeled off on the river.

Jared Jaffee
Jared Jaffee

Jared Jaffee raised to 24,000 from the cutoff and only the button player called to see a {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop. Jaffee continued for 17,000 and his opponent raised to 60,000.

Jaffee then three-bet to 120,000 and then called the 160,000 four-bet jam from his opponent.

Opponent: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Jared Jaffee: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

Jaffee was well ahead after flopping a set of fives and the {8-Diamonds} turn left his opponent drawing dead to the {4-Spades} river, ening their tournament one away from the money bubble.
