Klein Eliminates Rast

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

No-Limit Hold'em

Brian Rast opened to 26,000 under-the-gun and was called by Robert Campbell in the big blind.

Campbell check-called a 28,000 bet from Rast on the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop and both players checked on the {10-Diamonds} turn.

The {7-Hearts} completed the board and Campbell led out for 110,000. Rast called and Campbell tabled {q-Spades}{10-Spades} for trip tens. Rast mucked and was left with a very short stack.

Rast was eliminated a few hands later in Stud after getting all-in against Jesse Klein and losing with a pair of eights against Klein's pair of queens.

Schulman Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Nick Schulman raised from under the gun and was three-bet by Anthony Zinno in the small blind. Chris Brewer came along from the big blind and Schulman also called. It was a fair fight on the first draw as they all took one each. Zinno checked, Brewer bet and received two calls.

They all drew one each once more and now it checked to Schulman, who bet and was called only by Brewer. Schulman patted while Brewer took one and the latter then check-folded to a bet. As the far shortest stack not that long ago, Schulman has suddenly reached a seven-figure mix and is right in the middle of the pack.

Arieh Wins, So Does His Team

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Proudly sporting his Atlanta Braves cap today, Josh Arieh just won a big triple draw pot to boost his stack among the chip leaders.

Arieh raised in early position and got called by Mike Wattel on the button and Robert Campbell in the big blind.

Campbell drew two, Arieh drew one and Wattel drew one.

Campbell then checked to Arieh who bet and got called by Wattel, before Campbell came in with the check-raise, which both his opponents called.

On the second draw, Campbell and Arieh both patted, while Wattel still needed two. Campbell bet and Arieh raised, eliciting a fold from Wattel before Campbell called.

Both players remained pat, and Campbell then check-called a bet from Arieh who tossed forward a wheel to drag a huge pot.

Shortly after, Arieh watched the final out of the World Series as his team wrapped up the championship.

A pretty good few minutes for the Atlanta native.

No Miracle Comeback for Friedman

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Limit Hold'em

Adam Friedman raised from under the gun and Roman Yitzhaki three-bet on the button, Yuval Bronshtein called in the big blind and Friedman called. On the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop, Bronshtein checked and Friedman bet to receive two callers.

The {6-Clubs} turn brought another check by Bronshtein and Friedman bet with 8,000 behind. Yitzhaki raised and Bronshtein made it three bets. Friedman was pained, then laughed, and needed some time to make a decision.

"Just throw your hand in the garbage bin right there," Eli Elezra joked. Friedman then folded and Yitzhaki called. The {10-Spades} river brought a bet of Bronshtein and a fold frm Yitzhaki.

"Show at least one," Friedman demanded from his table neighbour and Bronshtein replied "I show, no worries, don't want you to get a heart attack" before flipping over {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the nuts.

"They will never hear the end of it if I come back from 8,000 chips and win this," Friedman said as he was forced all-in from the big blind in the next hand. Paul Volpe limped the button, Bronshtein folded {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} in the small blind and Friedman kept his cards face down, which everyone agreed to.

Volpe's {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} were exposed and he flopped broadway on the {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} board. "Let's see if I can at least chop this," Friedman said with a grin on the face, exposed {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and left with a "thank god I didn't see this."

Schulman Rebuilds Through Negreanu

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Razz

Daniel Negreanu completed on third street and only got a call from Nick Schulman, whose stack had been shrinking again. Negreanu then bet every street with Schulman calling down and their boards reading,

Daniel Negreanu: {x-}{x-}/{5-}{a-}{10-}{6-}/{x-}
Nick Schulman: {x-}{x-}/{4-}{5-}{q-}{j-}/{x-}

Schulman called a final bet on seventh street as well, with Negreanu showing {7-}{6-}{5-}{2-}{a-}.

Schulman however made his hand on seventh street, showing {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{a-} to pip Negreanu.

"I was rooting for a call", said Negreanu afterward as his chips were pushed to Schulman.

Campbell Crashes Out

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Chad Campbell
Chad Campbell

Pot-Limit Omaha

After losing a big pot to Matt Glantz just prior when Glantz flopped the nut flush and got three streets of value, Chad Campbell was in the big blind and got it in for what appeared to be 98,000, which was called by Chris Brewer.

Chad Campbell: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Chris Brewer: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}

"Eights are in the lead," Daniel Negreanu said. Quickly after he added "not anymore" after the {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop.

The {7-Spades} turn changed nothing, nor did the {5-Clubs} river, and Campbell hit the rail in 18th place.

Campbell Takes From Arieh

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Limit Hold'em

Robert Campbell raised on the button and found one caller in Josh Arieh from the big blind.

Arieh checked to Campbell on the {8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop, who bet. Arieh then raised and Campbell called.

Arieh continued to bet on the {5-Hearts} turn and Campbell called.

Both players checked on the {5-Spades} river and Arieh revealed {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a whiffed open-ended straight draw. Campbell held {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for two pair with a queen and scooped the pot.
