Shalev Shows

Level 4 : 300/500, 500 ante

The action was picked up on a board that read {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. There was about 45,000 in the pot.

Simon Shalev was on the button and moved all in over the top of his opponent's turn bet of 15,000.

His opponent, who was in the big blind, tanked for several minutes eventually let his hand go.

"Do you want me to show you?" asked Shalev before tabling {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for top two pair.

Brockley and Cheekuri Trade Big Bets

Level 4 : 300/500, 500 ante

A player on the button raised to 1,300 and Kalyan Cheekuri three-bet to 5,500 from the small blind. Michael Brockley four-bet to 12,000 from the big blind and both players called.

The flop was {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Cheekuri checked and Brockley bet 14,000. The button folded and Cheekuri called.

The turn was {5-Spades} and Cheekuri bet 27,000. Brockley called quickly and the river was {6-Spades}.

Both players checked the river and Brockley turned over {a-Spades}{j-Spades}. Cheekuri showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} before tossing it in the muck.

Mahfoud Doubles Up in Hand That Lasts Into Break

Level 4 : 300/500, 500 ante

Ayman Mahfoud, who knocked out Daniel Negreanu in the second level earlier in the day, was himself all in just as players prepared to head on a 20-minute break.

Mahfoud was facing a 10,000 bet on a board of {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and moved all in for around 40,000. His opponent went into the tank, getting up on one knee on his chair and mumbling to himself for several minutes.

As several players who were leaving on break began to surround the table, Mahfoud's opponent called with {a-}{q-}, but Mahfoud had him beat with {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for two pair.

The river came the {10-Hearts} and Mahfoud doubled up before leaving the room.

Lech Denied a Knockout; Wins Side Pot

Level 4 : 300/500, 500 ante
Michael Lech
Michael Lech

Michael Lech looked up the shove of a short stack and was ahead with {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} versus {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}. The board ran out {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and the full house on the board ensured the split pot. Apparently, the at-risk player came back from just 100 chips. However, the miracle comeback then ended the next hand when a dominated {a-Spades}{6-Spades} came up short versus {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.
