Shevlyakov Flops an Ace to Bust Smith

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Aleksandr Shevlyakov
Aleksandr Shevlyakov

Dusti Smith was down to only a few thousand chips when she moved all in preflop from the big blind. Aleksandr Shevlyakov called.

Dusti Smith: {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Aleksandr Shevlyakov: {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

The {q-Diamonds} came in the window to give Smith some hope, but it was followed by the {a-Hearts}{5-Spades} to give Shevlyakov top pair. The board ran out {4-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Smith was eliminated. Shevlyakov, the start-of-day chip leader, had taken a number of hits to his stack today but has climbed back up to around 230,000.

Yen Finishes Off Volpe

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Paul Volpe was down to around 40,000 and got them all in the middle from the small blind over the top of a preflop raise from Tzu Yen. Yen called.

Paul Volpe: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Tzu Yen: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

The {3-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop opened the possibility of a split pot, but the {6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} turn and river sealed Volpe's elimination. He wished the table good luck before grabbing his belongings and heading for the exit.

Das Shoves on Yen, Three-Bets Volpe

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Dilip Das three-bet to 26,500 from the big blind before Tzu Yen four-bet to 55,000 in early position. Das called to see the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop.

Both players checked to the {7-Hearts} turn when Das shoved all in. "I hate this hand" Yen said before folding.

"I think he had two jacks," tablemate Paul Volpe said before Das signaled he had better.

The next hand, Volpe opened the pot with a raise before Das three-bet again to 14,000. Volpe folded {a-}{j-} and Das showed {a-}{q-}.

Winn Finds Hero Call to Chop

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With over 50,000 in the middle the board read {q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Jerry Winn bet 21,000 and Benjamin Reason jammed his entire stack of approximately 115,000 in the middle. Winn went deep into the tank, taking close to four minutes before announcing a call. Reason looked like his heart sunk as he almost mucked his hand and said, "You win."

Reason turned his {a-Spades}{j-Spades} face up for ace-high and Winn tabled {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for the same hand and chopped the massive pot with ace-high.
