Wong Values Ace-High

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

One player in the small blind called, and in the big blind, Jerry Wong raised to 3,500 which the small blind responded to by calling.

The flop and turn came out {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs} with neither player putting in a bet.

The river came a {5-Clubs} and the small blind checked to Wong who bet 3,000. The small blind called and then mucked when Wong turned over {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for a pair of fives and ace-high.

Mateos Makes Trips To Stay Alive

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Four-time bracelet winner Adrian Mateos got it in ahead to stay in with a chance of winning his 5th WSOP bracelet.

The board read {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} with roughly 15,000 in the pot.

Under-the-gun +2 lead out for 40,000, putting Mateos all in for his last 16,400. Mateos called and tabled {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for bottom set.

His opponent showed {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}, and a {4-Diamonds} river doubled up Mateos.

Craig Hueffner Still Alive With King Crab

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Craig Hueffner managed a double up thanks to a fortunate flop with {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, a hand sometimes referred to as 'King Crab'.

With 29,000 in the middle on a turn of {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, Hueffner was all in and at risk for 22,400 out of the small blind, up against the hijack's {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Hueffner doubled up.

Afanasenka Doubles Through Deeb

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Brock Wilson raised under the gun to 2,600 and was called by Shaun Deeb in middle position. From the small blind, Raman Afanasenka three-bet to 11,500 which folded out Sergio Aido in the big and Wilson in first position, with only Deeb calling.

The flop of {q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts} saw Afanasenka continue for 8,000, which Deeb called.

Deeb called once more on the {6-Diamonds} when Afanasenka continued for 15,000.

The river of {10-Diamonds} saw Afanasenka move all-in for 55,800 which sent Deeb into the tank. After about a minute of thinking, Deeb called,

Raman Afanasenka: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Shaun Deeb: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Afanasenka's kings up was good enough to take down the pot as he shot up the chip counts.
