Gregg Eliminated by Bohlman

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

The cards were all but rushed away when Anthony Gregg vaulted out of his chair as he had been running out of chips and the pot was pushed to Scott Bohlman in the big blind.

On a board of {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, Gregg had flopped best with {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{q-}{x-Clubs} for a set of queens according to Julien Martini while Bohlman had {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{5-}{3-Diamonds} for a pair of aces that rivered the nut flush.

"I don't think I've ever been in a hand where two guys have been three-perfect to a wheel," commented Jean-Robert Bellande.

Negreanu Survives With a Chop

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Limit Hold'em

Johannes Becker opened with a raise in early position and was three-bet in the cutoff by Julien Martini. Daniel Negreanu then four-bet from his short stack and pulled out his vlogging phone (which is on a sturdy new support stick with a solid rubber handle).

Both his opponents called to see a flop of {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Action was checked to Negreanu, who bet with less than a bet left behind and was called in both spots.

On the {4-Spades} turn, it was action checked to Negreanu who put in his last 23,000, and again he was called in both spots.

The river brought the {3-Diamonds}, and after Becker checked, Martini bet, prompting a fold from Becker.

Martini showed {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}, while Negreanu was ahead of him until the river with {a-Spades}{k-Spades}, but had to settle for a chop as each made a wheel, keeping him alive, but still under 200,000 chips.

Joker Card on the Flop During a $1M Gtd. Poker Tournament?

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Joker card on the flop?
Joker card on the flop?

The 2022 PokerNews Cup at Golden Nugget has been a rousing success, easily surpassing the $1 million guarantee, and there's one hand that will probably be talked about for quite some time.

During Monday's Day 2 session in the $1,100 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament, an odd flop appeared at one of the tables on the very first hand. The flop came out {2-Hearts}, {9-Hearts}, and Joker. Yes, a Joker was somehow left in the deck, and one player seated at another table captured the hand on video, which was then posted on the PokerNews YouTube channel.

Becker Chips Up; Negreanu on the Move?

Johannes Becker
Johannes Becker

Limit Hold'em

On a {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} flop Johannes Becker check-raised against Julien Martini and Martini called. Becker bet on the {2-Spades} turn and Martini called.

Becker check-called a bet on the {k-Hearts} river. "You win," said Martini, and Becker showed {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}

"I expected him to show {8-Spades}{7-Spades}," remarked Becker. "Less outs than I thought!"

On the next hand Daniel Negreanu defended his big blind from an Andrew Kelsall open.

Negreanu check-raised on the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop and Kelsall called. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and Negreanu bet, with Kelsall folding.

"Got that diamond protection," said Negreanu with {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for two pair and a flush draw.

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

In a battle hijack versus cutoff and button, it was Jonathan Cohen at risk for the last 72,000 and by then, the initial raiser David "ODB" Baker as well as Scott Seiver had 113,000 each in front for the side pot.

The flop brought {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Baker bet 180,000 to force out Seiver.

Jonathan Cohen: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}
David "ODB" Baker: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Baker had plenty of outs with his second pair and got there on the {8-Clubs} turn to make two pair, then further improved to a straight with the {q-Hearts} on the river.
