The river was dealt and the board read {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. The pot held over 100,000 and Sharon Chen and Sandy Tran were battling for it.

Tran led from the small blind on the final street for 50,000. That bet represented over 25 percent of Chen's remaining stack. After thinking for a while, Chen decided to let her cards go and fight for another pot.

Westermann Checks the River and Wins Without a Showdown

Level 20 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Felisa Westermann raised to 30,000 from middle position and only found one caller, Melanie Pittard in the big blind.

The flop showed up {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Westermann chose to continue for 22,000 and Pittard check-called the bet.

On the turn {7-Clubs}, Pittard chose to lead for 65,000. After some thought, Westermann made the call.

The river brought the {10-Spades} and Pittard slowed down with a check. Westermann elected to check behind. After doing so, Pittard mucked her cards allowing Westermann to take the pot down without showing her own.

McKee Doubles Through Konnikova

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Melody McKee limped from middle position. Maria Konnikova raised to about 40,000 on the button.

Action folded back to McKee who limp-shoved for 186,000 and Konnikova had a decision to make.

"Last time you did this you had aces," she told her opponent.

Even so, Konnikova made the call to put McKee at risk

Melody McKee: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Maria Konnikova: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Off to the races, the board ran out {8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, McKee made a straight and took down the pot.

"One hand and you're back in the game," said a tablemate.

"I've doubled you up twice now, but this one was a good call," said Konnikova.
