Butler Chips Up Through Lagodich

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante
Ashly Butler
Ashly Butler

Iraj Parvizi limped from under the gun and then came along when Frank Lagodich raised in the small blind and Ashly Butler reraised to 2,800 in the big blind. They headed three ways to the {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop and checked to the {a-Hearts} turn. Lagodich bet 5,400 and was called by Butler only.

On the {2-Clubs} river, Lagodich check-called a bet worth 7,000 and mucked when Butler tabled the {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for aces and tens.

Bleznick Drops an Early One

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

After the hijack raised to 600, Jared Bleznick three-bet to 2,200 on the button. The big blind called and the hijack called as well.

On the three-way flop of {q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Action was checked to Bleznick, who bet 3,500. The big blind folded and the hijack called.

The duo checked the {5-Diamonds} turn, but on the {2-Clubs} river, the hijack led for 5,000.

Bleznick paused briefly, then flicked in a red T-5,000 chip to call.

The hijack showed {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for a turned flush and Bleznick mucked his cards.

Winter Pays Off Sinn

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

On the tail end of a {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} board, Charles Sinn bet 5,700 and was called by Sean Winter. Sinn tabled the {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a flush with the jack and that was good enough to win the pot.

An Early Pot for Bohlman

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Picking action up on a flop of {8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}, the player in the small blind bet 700, Tony Cousineau called in the big blind, and Scott Bohlman raised to 3,800.

Both opponents called to see the {q-Spades} on the turn. Action was checked to Bohlman who bet 8,000. Only Cousineau called.

On the {k-Diamonds} river, Cousinaeau checked again, and Bohlman fired 25,000.

Cousineau finally folded, sending a decent early pot to Bohlman.

Sanrock First Casualty of the Tournament!

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante
Chris Sandrock
Chris Sandrock

Chris Sandrock finished third in this tournament one year ago and this time holds the record of being the first player on the rail! Just as Ehsan Amiri took his seat on the same table, Sandrock was spotted on his way out and Trevor Hebert as well as Fahredin Mustafov were kind enough to recall the action.

According to the other players at the table, Sandrock had flopped a full house with {q-}{9-}{9-}{2-} on {10-}{10-}{9-} but a {q-} on the turn gave Hebert with a queen-ten combo the superior full house and sent Sandrock to the rail. Since this is a Championship Event, he won't be able to reenter while Hebert essentially starts with two times the starting stack.
