The Defending Champion Has Arrived

Level 4 : 300/500, 500 ante

Tim Seidensticker continues to hold the chip lead and has already accumulated more than four starting stacks in level four. Several other notables have jumped into the field and that also includes the defending champion Tommy Le. Last year's runner-up Jordan Spurlin can be found one table over as well.

Szecsi Chips Up Against Van Loo

Level 4 : 300/500, 500 ante
Norbert Szecsi
Norbert Szecsi

Joining the action on the {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, Tim Van Loo checked out of the big blind and Norbert Szecsi bet 1,800 from under the gun. Van Loo then check-raised to 6,500 and Szecsi called.

The {3-Clubs} followed on the turn for Van Loo to bet 16,000 and Szecsi called as they then headed to the {7-Spades} on the river. This time, both checked and Van Loo tabled the {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a set of sixes. Szecsci had that beat with the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and dragged in a healthy pot.

Small Boost for Mehmood

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Three ways to the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} turn, Omar Mehmood bet 1,300 and Yehoram Houri called by tossing in a single T-5,000 chip. Both then checked the {7-Hearts} on the river and Mehmood exposed the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades} for queens and treys.

Houri flashed his {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{x-} with a dry smile on the face as he had missed all the straight outs.

Assorted Counts in the Field

Bohlman Gets off Short Stack

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

After boosting his stack early, Scott Bohlman's stack has been sliding. However, a recent pot has got it back toward it's starting level.

With 6,400 in the pot on a turn board of {9-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{k-Spades}, Bohlman's opponent in the small blind check-called a bet of 4,000.

On the {2-Diamonds} river, action was again checked to Bohlman who bet 12,000 and got called, as he showed {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a full house of nines full of kings for the winner.

Flop Bet Wins It for Capitan

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Plenty of "semi-retired" poker players have admitted to no longer play full time but it appears that this very event is attracting many who have a preference for Pot-Limit Omaha. One of them happens to be Bogdan Capitan, who is now studying and researching at the university in Vienna and he was spotted with a preflop three-bet to 4,000.

His sole remaining opponent called and the flop came {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}. The action checked to Capitan and he bet 4,000 to win the pot right there.

Leonard Runs into Quads

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

On a completed board of {9-Spades}{q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Hearts} and several thousand in the pot, Patrick Leonard faced a bet of 2,400 from Damjan Radanov.

Leonard tossed the call partway across the table expecting to pay off the bet, and he did, as Radanov showed {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for quad nines.

Mahmood Takes From McCormick

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Heads-up to the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} turn, Ayaz Mahmood bet for what appeared to be 8,600 and was called by Tom McCormick, who tossed in two T-5,000 chips for the call. Mahmood bet again on the {j-Clubs} river for 5,000 and McCormick eventually folded to get shown the {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}.

"That's good," McCormick said as he mentioned to have let go of {k-}{10-}{9-}{7-} after missing all straight outs.
