Lulov's River Jam Takes it Down

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Action was picked up with a pot of around 250,000 and a complete board of {3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs} on the table.

James Sileo, in the small blind, fired for 43,000. His opponent, Brandon Lulov in the cutoff, went into the tank briefly, before announcing he was all in, with the effective stack of 108,000. This sent Sileo into the tank for several minutes, with another player at the table eventually calling the clock on him. Sileo, seemingly not convinced that Lulov had him beat but not willing to pay to find out, made the laydown before the clock had started their countdown.

Lulov scooped the pot, moving to well above the average stack.

Better Kicker for Meyers

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Christophe De Meulder raised to 6,500 and found a call with Brandon Meyers two seats behind.

The flop fanned {q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and De Meulder check-called Meyers for 6,000. The same action happened on the {2-Spades} turn, this time for 18,000.

A {6-Diamonds} paired the board on the river and both quickly checked. De Meulder revealed {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for two pair with the queens but Meyers held {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for the same hand with the best kicker and grabbed the pot.

Margolin Gets it All

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Timur Margolin
Timur Margolin

Action started on the turn with a large heads-up pot brewing. Timur Margolin saw a board of {j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and bet 56,000 into the pot of about 75,000. His opponent on the big blind made the call.

The river fell the {j-Spades}, pairing the top card and also bringing in the front-door flush draw. The big blind led out for 45,000.

After confirming his opponent's stack, Margolin moved all in, having his opponent well covered, for about 200,000 effective. His opponent called after some thought.

Margolin showed {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for bottom boat, his opponent showed {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

"How I got these chips? I make full houses," said Margolin as he raked the pot.

Hallaert Gets a Shove Through

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

With the turn showing {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, Kenny Hallaert opted to check out of the blinds. Ross Novak then bet 8,500 only for Hallaert to move all-in for 81,000 total with the covering stack. Novak went into the tank for a long time and eventually folded.

Gaelle Baumann
Gaelle Baumann

A player opened to 7,000 from under the gun and was called by Gaelle Baumann out of the small blind as well as the big blind.

Action checked to the preflop raiser after the {3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{a-Spades} flop and he continued for 10,000. Baumann called and the big blind, undeterred by the action ahead of him, raised to 31,000. The under the gun player responded by moving all in for 123,500. Baumann thought for a short while before re-jamming with the covering stack, prompting the big blind to lay his hand down.

Under the Gun Player: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Gaelle Baumann: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Baumann was way ahead with her flopped set and sealed the deal on the {10-Spades} turn prior to the meaningless {3-Hearts} river to send her stack shooting up the chip counts.

Start of Day Leaders Update

Gromenkova Benefits From Nice Runout

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Following an open raise to 7,000, Svetlana Gromenkova pushed all-in for 60,500 and it folded to Nico Neizert in the cutoff. He flat-called and the initial raiser folded for the following showdown to emerge.

Svetlana Gromenkova: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Nico Neizert: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop brought some hope for Gromenkova and another player on the table guessed the {10-Diamonds} would follow next. Sure enough, that's the very card that appeared on the turn. Gromenkova now had the flush draw on top and she got there thanks to the {4-Diamonds} on the river.

Neizert's roller coaster ride received another chapter as his stack size fluctuated wildly in the first two levels of the day so far.
