Kagawa Makes Huge Laydown

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Jay Dragland opened from early position and faced a three-bet by Rintaro Kagawa in middle position. Action folded back around to Dragland who opted to four-bet. That did not dissuade Kagawa who responded with a five-bet to 240,000. Dragland then moved all-in, sending Kagawa into the tank. Several minutes passed with a small crowd gathering around the table to watch the proceedings. Eventually Kagawa reluctantly folded, showing {k-}{k-}. Dragland was kind enough to reveal he had held {a-}{a-}, meaning that, close to the bubble, Kagawa had made a huge and correct laydown.

The very next hand Dragland opened from under the gun and continued on the flop but received no callers. He turned over {a-}{a-} to the amazement of the rest of the table.

Gonzalez Pulls Off Huge Bluff

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Michael Gonzalez opened to 13,000 on the button and faced a three-bet to 40,000 from Rintaro Kagawa out of the small blind. Gonzalez called to send the two players to the flop.

Kagawa continued for 45,000 on a flop of {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Gonzalez called.

The {a-Clubs} turn saw Kagawa bet again, this time a chunkier 100,000. Again, Gonzalez called.

Kagawa slowed down after the board pairing {6-Diamonds} river, checking to Gonzalez who moved all in for around 150,000. Kagawa went into the tank for several minutes but ended up folding. Gonzalez proceeded to show the table {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for the missed flush and straight draws, much to the chagrin of Kagawa.

Gavin Munroe

After an open on the button, Elliot Smith in the small blind then three- bet to 50,000, but then Gavin Munroe in the big blind decided to raise the price of poker and shipped it all in, covering Smith.

After the rest of the table got out of the way, Smith went deep into the tank.

"Shouldn't have three-bet light," Munroe told him.

"I'm not exactly light," Smith replied and Munroe just shrugged.

After a lengthy session in his head, Smith open- folded {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Munroe was nice enough to show him {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.
