Cada Cannot Hold With Kings

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Joe Cada
Joe Cada

In a three-way all-in, David Goodman was the shortest stack of just 38,000 and up against Joe Cada as well as table big stack Michael Asti.

David Goodman: {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Joe Cada: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Michael Asti: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop left Canada on the ropes with just one king still left in the deck. Goodman had a ton of outs with his flush draw and instantly got there on the {5-Diamonds} turn to secure his triple up while the {10-Spades} river brought no miracle escape for Cada.

Cure Spikes a Double

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Down to the last 34,000, Clement Cure got his short stack in with the {a-Spades}{4-Spades} and he was looked up by Dominick Sarle with the {a-Spades}{4-Spades}. The board came {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and the ace prevailed for Cure to remain in contention.

Recent Casualties

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The field is down to the final nine tables and the money bubble is coming closer with just the top 60 spots earning at least $3,500.

Petrushev Next to Crack Aces

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Konstantin Petrushev was all in for 98,000 and David Labchuk was committed for slightly less. Action was heads-up and Labchuk was at risk.

David Labchuk: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Konstantin Petrushev: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Spades} and the river queen brought a set for Petrushev to crack the aces and send Labchuk home early.

Kalidas Intercepts Another Bluff from Ponakovs

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Krishna Kalidas
Krishna Kalidas

Most of the table gasped as Krishna Kalidas was seen picking off a bluff by Aleksejs Ponakovs for his tournament life.

On a board of {6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, Kalidas had {6-Spades}{4-Hearts} for two pair and had called off with his last 60,000 on the four-flush board. Ponakovs' cards had already been turned face-down.

"I would never have called!" someone at the table reacted.

Earlier in the day, PokerNews saw Abbas Alikhani make a similar hero-call for his tournament life against Ponakovs, showing the $100,000 High Roller champion's table mates aren't afraid to go to war against him.

Hebert Chips Up With Ace-High

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

In a battle small blind versus cutoff, Joseph Hebert bet the {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades} turn for 8,000 and Christopher Dow called. Both checked the {k-Diamonds} on the river and Hebert won the pot with the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} as Dow dropped below him on the leaderboard.

Liedtke Doubles Through Iannace

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

The action commenced with an open raise to 6,000 by Ryan Messick and Michael Iannace three-bet to 17,000 from one seat over. It then folded to Mark Liedtke in the small blind and he took a short while before four-betting to 39,000. Messick got out of the way while Iannace called within a few seconds only.

On the {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop, Liedtke bet 25,000 and then called all-in when Iannace bet big.

Mark Liedtke: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Michael Iannace: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

"Nice hand," Iannace instantly sighed and failed to connect on the {6-Hearts} turn and {2-Clubs} river. "Why can't there a king out there?" he groaned before paying off the double.

Cada Dealt Kings vs. Aces in Blinds as Cohen Departs

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Joe Cada
Joe Cada

Jonathan Cohen jammed a stack of 54,000 in middle position before Joe Cada called in the small blind. Sydney Krugh snap-called in the big blind with a stack of 27,000.

Sydney Krugh: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Jonathan Cohen: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Joe Cada: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

It was a massive setup for Cada in the blind-against-blind situation. The board ran out {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and Krugh improved to a set to triple up.

Cohen was eliminated and left with his dog Riley as Cada was awarded a side pot, which the 2009 Main Event champ was less than enthusiastic about winning.
