Urbanic Makes an Outstanding Call

After Shannon Stash limped in middle position, James Urbanic completed his small blind and Wade Warren checked his big blind.

On the A♣5♣4♣ flop, action checked to Stash who bet 9,000, which got called by both opponents.

The trio checked through the A♥ turn, but on the 2♣ river, Urbanic led out for 30,000. Warren raised to 83,000 and Stash called.

With action back on Urbanic, he just called, recognizing that his opponent could have exactly what he did, the 3♣.

Warren showed his 10♣3♣ for a straight flush, while Urbanic showed his A♠5♠ for a rarely losing full house.

Burcu Wins a Big One

On a board reading A♥J♦5♠A♦, the player in middle position bet into Dagli Burcu for 20,000. Burcu thought shortly before just calling. Players were heads up and saw the A♣ on the river.

The middle position player bet 35,000 and, after a brief moment, Burcu went all-in for just over 100,000. The middle position player snapped his hand into the muck, which prompted Burcu to get out of her chair and celebrate.

"I've been all in like 10 times!", she exclaimed as she sat down.

Burcu has been battling at the same table all day and was thoroughly excited to have a big stack as the day continues.

Her opponent later said that he folded KxKx and Burcu's holdings remains unknown.

Rodriguez Puts Us One Step Closer to the Bubble

Adam Rodriguez limped under the gun to the tune of 4,000 as did the player sat to his left.

It folded round to the big blind who came over the top shoving all in for their remaining 39,000.

Rodriguez flat called the jam while the remaining player in the pot decided to get out the way.

As the board ran out 2♥7♥10♣8♠J♣, Rodriguez's ace high improved to a rivered straight, sending the big blind to the rail.

The 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is right around the corner. Running from May 30-July 18, the 54th Annual WSOP will return to the Las Vegas Strip for the second year in a row for a total of 95 bracelets — the most at a live WSOP in history.

In addition, there will be 20 bracelets – up from 13 last year – awarded on WSOP.com in the merged network of New Jersey and Nevada, while the segregated markets of Pennsylvania and Michigan each awarding seven bracelets.

Dorvall Thins the Field

With about 90,000 in the middle on a completed board of Q♦A♦J♣3♣10♠, Terra Dorvall moved all in after her opponent in early position had checked with just 25,000 left in front of her.

After over a minute of thought, Dorvall's opponent called to see Dorvall's K♣8♣ for a straight and the winner. The dealer revealed Dorvall's opponent's A♠10♥ for a losing two pair, as she was walking away from the table.

Tam Building a Massive Stack

A player in the under-the-gun position opened to 6,000 and got calls from players in early position, middle position, the small blind and Benson Tam in the big blind, creating a five-way pot.

On a flop of 8♣5♦4♣, the small blind checked leading to a bet of 9,000 from Tam. The under-the-gun player called and all other players folded before the dealer put the 9♣ out on the turn.

Action was on Tam who checked to see the under-the-gun player bet out 20,000. Tam very quickly announced all in and the under-the-gun player folded immediately.
