Stausholm Doubles Through Wedemire

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

With some 8,000 in the middle to the A108 flop, Thomas Wedemire invested 5,600 and then faced the shove by Martin Stausholm from one seat over. Wedemire asked for a count and made the call for 21,900 total after one minute of consideration.

Martin Stausholm: 107
Thomas Wedemire: A2

The 4 on the turn instantly improved Stausholm to an unbeatable flush, which made the K river a formality.

Joseph Labarbara raised to 1,700 and Robert Chorlian then jammed for the short stack he had behind. "I don't think I can fold that one," Labarbara mentioned and eventually called with the 22. It was a flip versus A8 and the board ran out 96465 to eliminate Chorlian.

Barnun Drills Running Boat

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Miles Barnum was involved in a four-way limped pot in late position and he used it to his advantage.

After two players in early position folded before the river, the board showed 3J667.

Barnum’s remaining opponent made two small bets into him the previous two streets and did it again on the river when he bet 6,000. Barnum took his time and hardly moved before reaching for chips to raise the action to 13,000.

The raise caught the opponent's attention, as he looked at the chips on the table, and then down at the board for a few seconds before making the call.

Barnum tabled 76 to reveal he hit a running full house, which resulted in his opponent pushing his hand face down to the dealer.

On a heads-up flop of QJ5, Chance Kornuth tossed out a bet of 3,000. His sole remaining opponent by then opted to fold and Kornuth first flashed the K. He then also revealed the K with a grin on the face. "I gotta show this one so I can bluff more later," he said while raking in the pot.

Kornuth is the chip leader on his table closely followed by Jared Jaffee.
