Whittle Building Steadily

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On a flop of 279, Jeff Whittle bet and got a single caller. A 5 on the turn was checked by both players. Whittle bet 10,000 when the river came 10x and was called again. Whittle showed 84 for a flopped flush and his opponent flashed AK before throwing them in the muck.

"The Legend!", shouted Jamie Gold, getting laughs from the whole table — after Whittle had correctly called him down earlier with Jack high, not once but twice.

The board ran out 10KKJQ which offered no help to the at risk player and catapulted Ingalls to a healthy 180,000 chip stack.

Konnikova Dodges Flopped Quads

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

As recapped by the players at the table, Gabe Ramos opened to 4500 from early position and received calls from a player in middle position and Maria Konnikova in the big blind.

Action checked around on the 228 flop. The turn came the K and both Ramos and Konnikova checked again. The middle position player went all-in, Konnikova folded and Ramos made the call to put his opponent at risk.

Middle Position: QxJx
Ramos: 22

Ramos had flopped quads and his opponent was promptly sent to the rail. After the hand Konnikova mentioned she had folded 8x6x for a flopped top pair.

Zebib Flops a Set in Three-Way Pot

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

A player in early position went all in for his remaining 18,500 chips and found calls from a player in middle position and Bassel Zebib in the big blind.

Both players checked the 106J flop. Zebib bet 18,000 on the J turn. The player in middle position folded and action was heads up between Zebib and the early position player at risk.

Early Position: AQ
Bassel Zebib: 66

The river was the K giving the all-in player a straight. Zebib had flopped a set and turned a full house leaving his opponent drawing dead on the river. As a result Zebib was left with one of the largest stacks in the room at 170,000.
