Jason Mercier completed and earned calls from Hal Rotholz and Yong Wang. Mercier checked his lead on fourth street and Rotholz then bet for his two opponents to call. On fifth street, Wang got out of the way when he paired his eight after Mercier had bet. Rotholz then raised and Mercier got the remainder of his short stack into the middle.

Mercier was on thin ice on sixth street when he paired his trey while Rotholz improved further. Seventh street then paired up Mercier once more and he departed with a "Good luck guys".

Rotholz had seen his stack reduced prior to the dinner break but he has bounced back to an above-average stack now.

Ivey Sends Gorodinsky to the Rail

Level 10
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Pot-Limit Omaha

There was a limp by Lyle Berman in middle position. Chris Klodnicki called on the button. Phil Ivey called in the small blind and Mike Gorodinsky checked his option in the big blind. The players were off to a flop four ways.

The 7106 flop hit the felt and Ivey checked. Gorodinsky put out a bet of 31,000. Everyone folded back to Ivey in the small blind who raised enough to put Gorodinsky all in. He called.

The cards hit their back.

Mike Gorodinsky: A554
Phil Ivey: A1066

It was about a flip going to the turn and river. Gorodinsky got there on the 3 turn giving him the nut flush. Ivey would then catch back up on the 10 river giving him a full house.

Gorodinsky hit the rail and Ivey continued to dominate.

Glaser Doubles, Leaves Linde With Crumbs

Level 10
Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Benny Glaser raised to 15,000 in the hijack and Dylan Linde three-bet enough to put Glaser at risk for his final 126,000. Glaser thought briefly and then made the call.

Both players broke and drew one. "That's good", said Glaser after Linde drew behind him.

Benny Glaser: 7x6x4x2x/Xx
Dylan Linde: 8x7x3x2x/Xx

Glaser drew a 9x to make a nine-seven, meaning Linde would need a six, five, or four to eliminate the recent $10,000 Triple Draw champion.

Linde however peeled a deuce, pairing up and leaving him with just 18,000 chips after sending the doubl-up to Glaser.

Freddy Deeb
Freddy Deeb

No-Limit Hold'em

There was a middle position open to 16,000 from legend of the game, Freddy Deeb. It folded all the way to James Obst in the big blind who defended off a stack that was top three in the field.

The KJ10 flop hit the felt and Obst checked it over to Deeb who threw out a bet of 24,000. Obst only thought for a moment before putting in the check-raise to 55,000. Deeb made the call and the players saw a 6 on the turn. Obst then slowed down and checked it over to Deeb. He took his time but eventually landed on a bet of 63,000.

No double check-raise from Obst this time as he mucked his hand and Deeb scooped a healthy pot in the first level after the close of registration.

Small Boost for Brown Against Hellmuth

Level 10

Stud Hi-Lo

Phil Hellmuth: QQ / 382J folded on sixth street
Andrew Brown: KxKx / 926A

Phil Hellmuth was still somewhat steaming when he tangled in a heads-up pot with Andrew Brown, though he cracked a joke to table neighbour Benny Glaser. When facing a bet on sixth street by Brown, Hellmuth was annoyed and assumed his opponent had paired his ace to fold QQ in the hole face-up.

Brown shook his head and replied "no, pocket kings" as he mucked the cards pretty high towards Hellmuth before raking in the pot. One table over, Kristopher Tong was moved to balance the field as Cary Katz sat down in his former seat.

Coleman Chops With Barbero

Level 10

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Picking up the action prior to the second draw, Maxx Coleman bet and called a raise by Nacho Barbero before they both took one card each. Coleman check-called a bet by Barbero and discarded one while Barbero patted.

Coleman check-raised a bet and Barbero made it three bets. Coleman made it four bets and Barbero capped it as Coleman called. Much to the surprise of nobody, they both showed the 7x5x4x3x2x and they chopped it up.

"Nice catch ... what did you catch?" Barbero inquired.

"What do you think he is gonna say, bro?" Jean-Robert Bellande chimed in with a big grin on the face.
