Heimiller Whiffs Everything to Bust

Level 9

Big O

Heads-up on a flop of K2A, Dan Heimiller bet from the cutoff before Joshua Steiner, on the button, raised enough to put Heimiller all in. Heimiller called for his last 18,500.

Dan Heimiller: A8543
Joshua Steiner: KKQ106

Steiner had flopped a set, while Heimiller was looking to make a low. The board ran out 99 and Heimiller missed everything as Steiner finished with a full house to send Heimiller to the rail.

Ogopoggio and Knapp Keep it Friendly

Level 9

Big O

Robert Ogopoggio limped from early position only to see Christopher Knapp raise to 1,800 from the button. Ogopoggio called to see a flop of K54.

Both players opted to check through and see a 6 turn card together. This led to another round of checking and brought out the 5 on the river.

Ogopoggio decided it was time to toss out a bet of 3,000 and Knapp called immediately and turned up the A10962 as Ogopoggio showed AAQQJ and with that, the dealer chopped the pot and sent a half to each.

Brill Takes Three Quarters

Level 9

Omaha Hi-Lo

Veronica Brill was on the button and put in a number of bets until she was all in for 18,900 against an opponent in the big blind on a board of 58K4J.

Brill turned over A532 for a pair of fives and a low, while her opponent had A962 for the same low as Brill took three quarters.

"You guys are terrible," a tablemate joked to a round of laughter from around the table.

"I'm not trying to troll you. I don't play this very often," Brill said as she took three quarters of the pot.

Manasas Wins With Trips, Campbell Builds Big Stack

Level 8

Big O

A player raised to 1,000 from under the gun before Renen Manasas, next to act, reraised to 3,000. The under-the-gun player called and both players checked the 9K6 flop.

Manasas faced a bet of 4,500 on the 6 turn and called to the 7 river, where his opponent bet another 11,000. Manasas again called and was shown A10942.

Manasas turned over AJ632 for trip sixes as he took the pot.

Chad Campbell recently eliminated two players in the same hand at this table, including Matthew Wolfson, and is now sitting on around 80,000.

Wess Leaves Opponent with Less

Level 8

A player in late position limped leading to a limp from the button, the small blind and Phil Wess in the big blind.

The flop came out 49J with action checking to the button who tossed in a bet. The small blind and Wess in the big blind both called to see the 6 come out on the turn with action checking through to the J river.

Both the small blind and Wess checked to the button who tossed out a bet. The small blind folded and Wess made the call to set up a showdown.

Wess tabled the AKJ1010 and his opponent tabled the AKQ72 and with no low available and simply as ace high, Wess took the whole pot down with three jacks.

Levin Rivers the Nuts on Pisarenko

Level 8

Omaha Hi-Lo

A player in early position raised and Maksim Pisarenko called on the button before the small blind reraised. Alex Levin then reraised in the big blind and Pisarenko called.

The flop came JQ8 and Levin led out with a bet. Pisarenko then tried to put the rest of his chips in the middle thinking it was another game but could only raise the limit. Levine called to the 4 turn.

Pisarenko now bet and Levin called to the 10 river. He checked and Pisarenko checked behind.

"I have the nuts," Levin said, turning over AA105 for the rivered flush as Pisarenko mucked.

Johnny Chan

As ten-time bracelet winner Phil Ivey competes in Day 2 of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP), another Poker Hall of Famer was looking for his eleventh piece of WSOP gold with a deep run in Event #41: $1,500 Big O.

Johnny Chan entered the third and final day of the Omaha event toward the bottom of the counts with 18 players remaining as the 1987 and 1988 Main Event champion hoped to finally break the three-way tie between himself, Ivey and the late Doyle Brunson in second place on the all-time bracelet list.

Sadly for poker fans sweating the $1,500 buy-in event, "The Master" was eliminated 14th place for $13,982 after a confrontation with Scott Abrams.

Schappell Leaves Negreanu With Crumbs

Level 8

Big O

Daniel Negreanu limped in from under the gun before Kyle Shappelle raised to 2,800 on the button. Negreanu called and they saw a flop of 1036.

Negreanu now potted for 10,200, Shappelle raised, and Negreanu called off his last 29,000.

Daniel Negreanu: J10986
Kyle Shappelle: AQQ92

Negreanu had flopped two pair while Shappelle was on a flush draw. The 8 turn was safe for Negreanu, but Shappelle spiked the 9 on the river to complete his flush. The stacks were counted down and Negreanu barely had Shappelle covered, leaving him just 200 behind.
