Hand Starts Out Five-Ways, Ends With Only Qiu

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

The player under the gun raised to 800 and got called by Chang Qiu in late position along with the cutoff, small blind and big blind leading to the 632.

The small blind, big blind and the initial under-the-gun raiser all checked over to Qiu who tossed out a bet of 2,200 which was called only by the big blind to bring out the A on the turn.

Action checked through to bring the K on the river. The player in the big blind led with a bet of 5,500.

Qiu thought briefly and decided on putting in the call. The big blind showed the 84 before Qiu turned over 1010 for the winner.

Stout Fires Three Barrels

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Steven Stout in middle position was the first to act as he bet 500 from the middle position. He was only called by the blinds.

On 6A8, he added 1,100 to the pot. The small blind folded, but the big blind called.

The 4 came on the turn, and Stout continued his aggression, betting 3,600. Once again, the big blind called.

The 7 landed on the river, and Stout tried to find more value with a third barrel of 4,000. But this time, his opponent folded. Stout took a breath and showed his A6.

Vieira up Big Early

Joao Vieira was heads-up from the big blind against the player on the button on a 652 flop. Vieira check-called a 400 bet from his opponent.

The 7 fell on the turn and Vieira checked again — prompting a 1,500 bet from the button. Vieira then check-rasied to 5,300 and his opponent folded after a bit of thought.

The two-time bracelet winner has already more than doubled his stack early into Day 1c.

Jacks Versus Snowmen

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Michael Monroig raised from the button to 800 and the player in the small blind three-bet to 2,200 and Monroig made the call.
The flop came down 76Q and the small blind placed a continuation bet of 3,500 and Monroig called.

The turn 6 prompted a check from the small blind and Monroig seized his chance and placed a bet of 4,200 which was quickly called.

Both players checked the river 10 and the small blind stated, "two pair", and tabled 88. Monroig showed his cards JJ for the better two pair.

The small blind said, " You made a good bet on the turn".

Wilke Applies Some Pressure

Two players saw a flop of 6K8. The small blind checked to Dennis Wilke, a couple of seats to his left. Wilke put out a bet of 1,200 and the small blind called.

The turn came a 7 and it was checked to Wilke again. He sized up to 4,700, which was enough to elicit a fold.

Foxen Rebounds Well

Just a few hands after being forced to lay down her hand to a flop three-bet, high stakes pro and three-time bracelet winner Kristen Foxen found herself looking at a board of A6K.

Foxen was out of position and opted to lead for 1,000. A player in late position called and they were off to a turn. The turn brought a 4 and Foxen then slowed down and checked. The player in late position wasted no time before putting out a bet of 3,000. Foxen called.

The river landed a 4 and action quickly checked through.

Foxen tabled AJ for two pair and her opponent looked disappointed and tabled K6 for a flopped two pair that was counterfeit.

Foxen scooped to regain some chips.

Turner Turns Trips

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Action was picked up on the turn with the board reading 57QQ and about 6,000 in the pot. Jon Turner and Santiago Trujillo both checked leading to the 10 on the river.

Trujillo bet 1,800 and was quickly called by Truner. Trujillo tabled A10 for two pair while Turner showed down QJ for trips to take the pot down.

Berkey Snaps Off a Bluff

Matt Berkey was heads-up from under the gun against another player in middle position on a Q52 flop.

Berkey bet 1,000 and his opponent called.

Both players checked on the K turn and then Berkey bet 1,100 when the Q completed the board. His opponent announced a raise to 4,500 and Berkey instantly put in calling chips.

Berkey's opponent showed 44, which was no good against Berekey's QJ for trip queens and he dragged the pot.

Barbero Stays on the Gas

There was a raise from early position which was called by John Bitakis on the button and Nacho Barbero in the big blind. The flop fell 964 and the action checked to Bitakis who bet 2,000. Barbero check-raised to 6,000 and Bitakis called.

The A landed on the turn and Barbero splashed in a bet of 8,500. Bitakis still called and the Q completed the board. Barbero made a bet of 17,000 on the river which put Bitakis in the tank. After a couple of minutes, Bitakis finally laid his hand down and Barbero raked in the pot.
