Jorstad Triple Barrels

Espen Jorstad was three ways on a J92 flop. The player in the small blind bet 1,300 and Jorstad raised to 5,200 from the big blind. The third player called cold from early position and the initial bettor folded.

Jorstad fired 11,000 into the middle on the 7 turn and his opponent again called.

The 2 completed the board and Jorstad wagered a hefty 39,000 — sending his opponent deep into the tank.

After several minutes, the clock was called by another player at the table. The floorman counted down and Jorstad's opponent's hand was declared dead.

Jorstad's opponent turned over KJ after the fact and said, "You have a lot of money, you don't care. That's what I was thinking," as last year's Main Event winner collected the pot.

KMart Nearly Risks It All

As relayed to PokerNews from the first level, Kevin Martin raised to 500 in early position and was called by two players in middle position. The big blind three-bet to 3,700 and only Martin called. The flop came Q98 and the big blind checked to Martin who bet 3,400 which his opponent called.

The turn was the 9 and the big blind checked again. Martin sized up a bet of 10,000 and his opponent still called. The river brought the Q and the big blind checked one more time. Martin reached back for a bet of 25,500 and his opponent tanked for a couple of minutes.

"If it's a bluff, it's a hell of a bluff," the big blind said as he folded. Martin was shipped the pot and turned over 3x3x which got a reaction from the rest of his table.

Loeser Hits A Set Against O'Hara

Ian O'Hara opened to 600 from middle position and was called a first time by the cutoff, and a second time by Manig Loeser in the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of 23Q. O'Hara bet 500. The cutoff called, but Loeser raised to 2,200. O'Hara called, but the cutoff did not.

On the turn 3, after Loeser checked, O'Hara bet 2,700 chips. Loeser the decided to call and checked on the river 9. O'Hara checked back and folded when Loeser showed 63 for trips.

Litsou Takes One Down

Action was picked up on the turn with players heads up and the board reading 5863. Efthymia Litsou check and called a 1,800 bet from a player in late position.

The river came the 8 and both players checked.

Litsou tabled A6 for two pair and a missed flush draw which was enough to scoop the pot.

Boivin Steals on the River

There was a raise to 700 in early position and Thomas Boivin flat-called from the cutoff. They went heads-up to a flop of AQ4 and Boivin was faced with a bet of 700 which he called.

The turn was the 6 and Boivin was facing another bet of 1,200. He still called and the Q paired the board on the river. It checked to Boivin this time who flicked in a bet of 5,000 and his opponent quickly folded.

Perez Gets to Showdown

There was an open under the gun to 800. Next to act was Roberto Perez who put in the three-bet to 2,100, getting called by the cutoff and under the gun.

The flop landed AK8 and action checked to Perez, who continued for 1,200. The cutoff didn't think for long before putting in a raise to 3,000. Under the gun folded and Perez called.

The 9 landed on the turn and action slowed down and checked through. The river brought a 3 and action checked through once more. Cutoff tabled QxQx and Perez tabled AJ for top pair to take the pot.

Orlando Rivers Trips

The player under the gun raised to 2,100 and a middle position player and John Orlando in the cutoff both called. The flop came out JQ9 and under the gun checked, middle position bet 2,200 and both players called.

The turn came the 2 and the middle position bet again for 3,400 and both players came along again.

The river J received a check from the player under the gun and the middle position player and Orlando made his move and bet 10,000. The player under the gun called and the middle position player folded.

The player under the gun showed Q9 for flopped two pair, but Orlando showed KJ for the rivered trips.

The player under the gun said, "I should have raised."
