Kornuth Traps With Big Slick, Bluffs River

Anirban Das opened to 65,000 from the cutoff and Chance Kornuth and Jeremy Becker called in the blinds.

Kornuth and Becker checked on the flop of J♠8♦4♣ and Das continued for 75,000. Only Kornuth called. Kornuth checked on the 3♣ turn and Das checked back.

The 10♦ river completed the board and Kornuth, in a Chip Leader Coaching hoodie and behind a pair of aviators, bet a massive 355,000 for nearly the size of the pot. Das called. Kornuth turned over A♠K♠ for ace-high and Das tabled Q♦8♥ to win the pot with a pair of eights.

Davis checked for a third time and Lappin took a stab for 125,000. Davis wasn't thrilled at the spot and removed his glasses while glancing down at his LEGO T-Rex card protector. He made the call and mucked after Lappin tabled A♥A♦.

Faraz Jaka sat in the small blind and was battling Nick Guagenti in a heads up pot worth 400,000 chips. The flop was already dealt and read 6♣10♠7♥.

Jaka checked and called a subsequent 215,000 bet from Guagenti. On the following A♣ turn, Jaka led for 250,000 and Nick raised that to 725,000, leaving only 425,000 chips behind.

Jaka mulled it over for a bit before announcing "all-in." Guagenti instantly folded and left himself short, while Jaka shipped a nice pot without showdown.

Jordan Westmorland was in the small blind on a completed board of 3♠J♣Q♥5♠5♣ when he led out for 875,000.

Yaroslav Ohulchanskyi, on the button, tanked for several minutes before he called. Westmorland turned over Q♣5♥ for a full house and Ohulchanskyi mucked to surrender the massive pot.

Michael Duek, last year's third-place finisher, is also at this table as he seeks another deep run to the final table.

Nicholas Rigby opened to 80,000 from under the gun only to see Camden Mariotti three-bet to 225,000 in middle position. Action folded back around to Rigby who four-bet enough to force Mariotti all in with the latter calling off for his remaining 755,000.

Mariotti would need to win a flip to survive but that seemed an unlikely outcome after the flop came A♣7♠6♥. The 9♠ turn left Mariotti needing to find a jack on the river to survive but he was unable to do so with the 3♥ completing the board instead.

After losing a massive pot to Andrew Hulme, Hermilo Garza was in the action once again.

Benjamin Grise had bet 450,000 into the pot of about 800,000 on the completed board of J♥9♠8♠8♣K♠, and Hermilo Garza shoved for his last 760,000.

Grise snap-called to see Garza's J♣J♠ for jacks full of eights, but it was no good as Grise tabled K♦K♣, eliminating Garza with a bigger full house.

With the board reading Q♦10♠8♣7♣K♠ and about 500,000 in the pot Charles Johnson bet 125,000 from the big blind and Nick Marchington raised it to 500,000 from early position. Charles Johnson considered his options for about a minute before flicking in the call.

Marchington immediately mucked his hand and Johnson tabled K♥3♥ top pair, weak kicker to take the pot down and put a major dent in Marchington's stack.

Charlie Chiu and Gabi Livshitz were heads up to turn on 5♦A♠10♠J♠ in a pot of around 275,000. Both players checked it and the 6♣ river was dealt.

Chiu now bet out 290,000, a slight overbet. Livshitz went into the tank for a few minutes but eventually folded his "sh*tty bluff-catcher."

"Show, it's good for the game!" Livshitz requested. However, Chiu denied and play continued.

Obregon Gets Paid in Massive Pot

A massive pile of chips amounting to more than 1,000,000 was already in the middle as Bryan Obregon and Aditya Systla went heads-up to the river on a board of A♠9♥Q♥2♣6♠.

Obregon, in middle position, then bet another 975,000 as Systla went into the tank. He eventually put in the chips to call and Obregon turned over 2♠2♦ for a set.

Systla calmly said "nice hand" and took a sip from his coffee cup as he watched the pot head over to Obregon.
