New WSOP Online Poker Site Merges Three US States; 30 Online Bracelet Events Scheduled

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is making a move that will change the online poker game in the US with the launch of WSOP Online, a new platform that will bring players from three states together.

Poker players in Nevada and New Jersey are already competing against each other on WSOP.com, while those in Michigan have a separate single-state site. But that is changing with the trio of states being merged together on one online poker site ahead of the 2024 WSOP. Pennsylvania's WSOP site will not be part of the shared liquidity deal.

On top of the merger news, the WSOP has announced 30 online bracelet events this summer on the new WSOP Online.

Chris Moneymaker is giving it another try, opening a poker room in Kentucky, this time in Louisville.

Moneymaker Social Louisville opened Saturday, becoming the second operating brick-and-mortar card room in the state. The other one, a slightly bigger room, is located just down the street, about 15-20 minutes from the University of Louisville campus.

Opening night "went well," poker room manager Christine Russell told PokerNews. As with any new business, there "were some kinks to work out." But as Russell said, players were impressed with the initial experience.

Porta Sends Two to the Rail

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

There were shouts of disbelief from a table at a three-way all in involving Sam Porta.

The board read J26A2 with Jonathan Pastore JJ having flopped top set and rivered a full house.

Kevin Houghton had turned top pair with A5 but Porta sent them both to the rail with AA for a higher turned set and rivered full house, chipping up over 600,000 and adding two bounty chips.

Action was picked up on the turn with the board showing 4975 and John Hennigan facing a bet in the big blind of 85,000 from Thibault Perissat who was in early position. Hennigan made the call to see a river.

The river was the K and after Hennigan checked over to Perissat, he announced all in for Hennigan's last 245,000 chips, which Hennigan instantly called.

Perissat tabled 77 for a set, while Hennigan showed K4 for two pair, and Hennigan was eliminated from the tournament.

Taylor Doubles Through Cada

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Thomas Taylor shoved from the button for 119,000 and Joe Cada called in the big blind.

Thomas Taylor: K10 All in
Joe Cada: AJ

The flop came Q52 and as the turn Q was dealt, Taylor took one of his bounty chips and placed it on top of his all-in stack in anticipation of Cada eliminating him.

However, the river was the K keeping Taylor alive.

"He jinxed it!" said tablemate Aaron Thomas. "Did you see that?"

"It's a step above putting your backpack on," replied Taylor who doubled to around 250,000 chips.

Dardon Collects Shak's Bounty

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Action folded around to Dan Shak on the button, who elected to shove all in for roughly 165,000. Raquel Dardon called from the small blind and had Shak covered.

Dan Shak: Q9 All in
Raquel Dardon: AK

The flop of 7K6 offered no help to Shak, who would now need runner-runner to stay alive. The K turn sealed his fate and the 7 completed the board. Dardon's trips awarded her the pot and a bounty.
