Venkatesan Doubles Up

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Kade Venkatesan has hovered with a sub-10 big blind stack for most of the past two levels, and he found a spot on the button to get a majority of his chips in.

Venkatesan raised to 160,000 after action folded to him, but he left 15,000 behind.

Daniyal Gheba three-bet to 300,000 out of the small blind, forcing the big blind to fold. Venkatesan called to put himself at risk.

Daniyal Gheba: A4

The dealer fanned 10Q5 on the board, giving Venkatesan a gutshot straight draw. Gheba’s ace remained ahead, though.

The 3 didn’t help Venkatesan, but the J on the river completed a straight to give him much-needed chips.
