Helppi On the Rise

Level 5 : Limits 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Juha Helppi opened from early position only to see Robert Campbell three-bet one seat over. Action folded around to Louis Hillman in the small blind who called while Helppi too chose to see a flop.

All three players checked through the A7J flop and K turn to the Q river at which point Hillman checked once more. Helppi tossed out a bet, getting a quick call from Campbell. Hillman mulled it over for a few moments before mucking his hand. Helppi turned over 109 for the straight to take down the pot and leave Campbell trending in the wrong direction.

Chris Moneymaker is giving it another try, opening a poker room in Kentucky, this time in Louisville.

Moneymaker Social Louisville opened Saturday, becoming the second operating brick-and-mortar card room in the state. The other one, a slightly bigger room, is located just down the street, about 15-20 minutes from the University of Louisville campus.

Opening night "went well," poker room manager Christine Russell told PokerNews. As with any new business, there "were some kinks to work out." But as Russell said, players were impressed with the initial experience.
