2024 World Series of Poker
Juha Helppi opened from early position only to see Robert Campbell three-bet one seat over. Action folded around to Louis Hillman in the small blind who called while Helppi too chose to see a flop.
All three players checked through the A♦7♣J♥ flop and K♠ turn to the Q♣ river at which point Hillman checked once more. Helppi tossed out a bet, getting a quick call from Campbell. Hillman mulled it over for a few moments before mucking his hand. Helppi turned over 10♦9♦ for the straight to take down the pot and leave Campbell trending in the wrong direction.

Bryan Pimlott: K♣10♥
Ben Underwood: 10♠9♠
Pimlott was in great shape for the double up but when the board ran out 5♣A♠J♣8♦9♣ it was Underwood with a pair of nines who had the best hand, eliminating Pimlott from the tournament.

Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
For the sixth episode, Connor spoke with longtime poker pro and coach Faraz Jaka, who was fresh off a runner-up finish in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship. Jaka talked about running up a six-figure bankroll in college, going broke and moving down stakes, battling back from a debilitating back injury to win his first bracelet in 2023 and running deep in this year's $25,000 Heads-Up Championship.
Jaka also talked about his site Jaka Coaching, discussed what makes a good poker coach and offered advice for players looking to grind the WSOP this summer.
This interview took place at the 2024 WSOP in Las Vegas and was filmed inside Horseshoe Las Vegas.
The Life Outside Poker podcast is available on major streaming platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and iHeartRadio. You can also watch the interview with Faraz Jaka by heading to the PokerNews YouTube channel.
Action was picked up on the turn with the board showing 10♠A♦6♣3♠ with 9,000 chips in the pot. It was heads up with Danny Qutami on the button facing a check-raise from Terrence Chan in the big blind. Qutami opted for a three-bet, and Chan made the call.
The river was the Q♥ and Chan check-called the bet from Qutami, and was shown 6♠6♥ for a set, as Chan mucked his hand.
Chan was left with just 5,500 chips after the hand and was seen exiting the tournament area just a few hands after.

Chris Moneymaker is giving it another try, opening a poker room in Kentucky, this time in Louisville.
Moneymaker Social Louisville opened Saturday, becoming the second operating brick-and-mortar card room in the state. The other one, a slightly bigger room, is located just down the street, about 15-20 minutes from the University of Louisville campus.
Opening night "went well," poker room manager Christine Russell told PokerNews. As with any new business, there "were some kinks to work out." But as Russell said, players were impressed with the initial experience.

Ryan Hansen raised from early position, and was three-bet by Paulius Plausinaitis, before being four-bet by Scott Tuttle on the button. Both Hansen and Plausinaitis made the call.
The flop came 7♦J♠3♦ and it checked to Tuttle who bet. Both Hansen and Plausinaitis called.
On the turn it was the 8♦ and Hansen lead out, which was called by Plausinaitis. Tuttle also called with his last 2,000.
The 10♠ on the river completed the board, and after Hansen bet out, Plausinaitis made the call.
Plausinaitis showed down 10♥10♣ and Hansen and Tuttle mucked, while Tuttle was eliminated.

John Parker opened from under the gun and then called after Nick Pupillo three-bet from middle position.
Parker check-called a bet from Pupillo on the 3♦4♦2♣ flop.
The 7♣ turn saw Parker check again. Pupillo fired off another bet, which Parker called.
Both players checked following the 8♥ river. Parker tabled A♣J♥ while Pupillo held A♥J♠, leaving the two to chop up the pot.
