2024 World Series of Poker
Level: 4
Blinds: 1,000/2,500
Ante: 2,500
Pieter Aerts opened to 4,500 from the hijack before Pete Chen made it 14,000 from the button. Nick Maimone four-bet to 35,000, folding out Aerts. Chen decided to stay in the mix and called.
Chen called for 15,000 on the A♣J♠8♣ flop before calling off his last 50,000 on the Q♠ turn.
Pete Chen: A♦Q♦
Nick Maimone: K♦10♦
Chen turned two pair, but his opponent improved to Broadway. Chen could not fill up on the 3♣ river and became the latest departure.
Kristen Foxen raised in the cutoff to 4,000 which saw Brek Schutten three-bet to 16,000 which Foxen called.
Both players checked the 10♣5♣2♣ flop over to 5♠ turn where Foxen bet 9,000 and Schutten called.
On the river 6♥, Foxen bet 11,000 which saw Schutten call and muck when Foxen turned over 4♥4♠ for fives and fours.
Orpen Kisacikoglu opened to 4,500 from the hijack before Nikolai Mamut jammed for 41,500 from the cutoff. Joao Vieira called from the button. The blinds got out of the way and so did Kisacikoglu.
Nikolai Mamut: 6♥6♣
Joao Vieira: JxJx
Mamut failed to find any help on the Q♠A♥7♦4♥3♣ runout and headed to the wrong side of the rail.
Faraz Jaka completed from the small blind and Justin Bonomo checked from the big blind.
The dealer fanned a monotone flop of 4♥Q♥6♥. Jaka check-called a min-bet of 2,000 from Bonomo to see the 7♠ come on the turn. Both players checked and they headed to the river.
On the A♠ river Jaka led out for 6,000 and Bonomo put in the call. Jaka turned over A♦3♣ for a pair of aces which was enough to win him the pot.
The board showed A♦A♠7♠A♥J♣ with around 75,000 in the middle. Martin Stausholm checked and Norihiro Otani bet 80,000. After some thought, Stausholm check-raised all in for 98,000 total. Otani didn't use much time before letting go of his hand and forfeiting the pot to Stausholm.
Alex Foxen opened to 4,000 on the button and in the small blind, Ren Lin three-bet to 11,000 which saw only Foxen call.
The flop came out 10♦K♠4♠ and Lin bet 8,000 which Foxen called.
Lin bet once more on the J♦ turn, sizing up to 29,000 and Foxen called a second time.
On the river 9♠, Lin moved all in for 98,000 and Foxen looked back at his hole cards.
"Good luck in the $300," Foxen said as grabbed a stack to call with.
Ren Lin: A♣2♦
Alex Foxen: A♠6♠
"Ayaaaa," Lin said as he gave Foxen a big hug as Lin's ace-high was no good against the nut flush of Foxen. Foxen raked in a sizable pot while Lin was eliminated from the tournament.
Andrew Wilson raised to 4,000 in first position and was called by all the players at his table.
On the flop of 7♥A♠5♦, action checked around to Ben Tollerene on the button who bet 5,000 which saw Robert Bell raise to 18,000 in the small blind, folding out all other players and Tollerene called.
Bell checked the turn 5♥ and called a bet of 18,500 on the turn from Tollerene.
The river peeled off a 4♠ and Bell checked once more to Tollerene who moved all in for 146,000. Bell used a time extension before calling for the majority of his chips.
Ben Tollerene: 9♦6♦
Robert Bell: A♥9♠
Bell's top pair with a nine was good enough to win the pot and give Bell one of the biggest stacks in the tournament while Tollerene walked over to the reentry cage.
