Ryan Sullivan is at the top of the leaderboard after the first of three Day 1 flights for Event #38: $1,500 Monster Stack No-Limit Hold'em. Sullivan has managed three small cashes at this year's WSOP already and will be looking to convert his stack into his first bracelet. He is followed by Cristian Tuica (728,500) and John Oshea in second and third place, respectively.

Day 1a of the $1,500 Monster Stack attracted 2,359 players looking to enjoy the deep starting stacks and slow blind structure.

Some 737 players remain in the event, including the 2015 WSOP Main Event Champion Joe McKeehen (228,000) and Ryan Leng, who cracked the top ten with 502,500 in chips.

Other notables who bagged include Joe Cada (40,000), Brian Hastings (69,500), Allen Cunningham (117,500), Tiffany Michelle (284,500), Maria Ho (310,000), Felipe Ramos (370,000), and Martin Kabrhel (371,500).

Day 1b kicks off at 10 a.m. local time on June 15 and will play for eleven 60-minute levels. There will be a 20-minute break every two levels with a 75-minute dinner break after Level 8 (around 7 p.m.).

There will be one more Day 1 after that, then the field will combine for Day 2 on June 17 at 11 a.m. PokerNews traditional coverage of this event will begin on Day 2.
