On the A♠3♠K♠ flop, Madeira check-called a bet of 150,000 from Haidary.

A 10♣ came on the turn and Madeira checked, Haidary bet 550,000, and Madeira folded.

Schwartz Applies Pressure to Kruse on the River

Max Kruse opened to 200,000 under the gun and Pedro Madeira called from the cutoff. Brandon Schwartz came along from the button, and Mostafa Haidary also tagged along from the big blind.

On the connected Q♦9♠K♦ flop, it checked to Kruse who fired a bet of 180,000. Schwartz and Haidary both called.

A J♠ hit the turn and after Haidary checked, Kruse bet 460,000. Schwartz called and Haidary folded.

When the 10♦ completed the board, Kruse checked and Schwartz made a bet of 1,100,000. Kruse didn't look what he saw and flashed the 10♣ before he made what seemed to be an agonizing fold.

Matthew McEwan opened to 200,000 from the cutoff, when Ihar Soika three-bet to 1,700,000, leaving only 300,000 chips behind, Bernd Gleissner then announced all in, McEwan folded, and Soika made the call.

Action was caught after the flop of 2♣5♥5♦ and both the blinds were quick to check. Yang Zhang fired for 150,000 and only received a call from Bernd Gleissner in the small blind.

The turn was the 7♦ and Gleissner took the betting lead for 250,000. Zhang made the call.

While the river peeled the A♦, Gleissner was quick to check. Yang Zhang fired for 750,000 and Gleissner took his time.

Eventually he made the fold for Zhang to take the pot.

Mostafa Haidary raised to 225,000 from under the gun and Pedro Madeira three-bet to 650,000 from the button. Sonny Franco was in the big blind and he shoved all in for 2,005,000, then Haidary shoved for 4,365,000. Madeira had a big decision on his hands but ultimately elected to stay out of the way and folded.

Franco did improve to a flush draw on the K♦K♣5♦ flop but both the 3♥ turn and 9♠ river were bricks which meant he was eliminated in 9th.

McEwan check called a bet of 130,000 after the A♣3♠8♣ flop, and 450,000 on the 10♦ turn.

After the 7♦ on the river, both players checked. McEwan showed A♥4♥ for a top pair, but Zhang tabled A♦J♦ for a pair of aces, but with a better kicker, giving him the pot.

The turn was the 5♥. Haidary check-called 460,000 to go to the river which was the 4♦. This time, Haidary led for 1,575,000. Kruse sighed and leaned back. He thought for about a minute before sliding his cards into the muck.

The turn was the 10♦ and Gleissner bet 200,000 before being raised by McEwan to 650,000. Gleissner wasted little time to three-bet McEwan all in for 2,015,000, McEwan made the call, and put his tournament life on the line. n
