Event #71: $1,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship of the 2024 World Series of Poker drew a total of 1,245 entries at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, falling just 50 players short of the record 1,295 entries achieved in 2023.
The day started out with around 600 entries, but that quickly grew by the end of late registration. When it was time to bag, only 312 players were still in the running for the top prize of $171,732 and the WSOP gold bracelet.
Only 187 of the returning players will cash the tournament, meaning almost half will leave empty-handed. All players that successfully make the money will receive a minimum-cash of $2,006, but all will have their eye on the first place payout.

Irene Carey leads the field with a massive 413,500. Last year's Ladies Event Champion Tamar Abraham was here at the beginning of the day to defend her title. After playing all ten levels of Day 1, Abraham bagged 68,500 chips. The 2022 Ladies Event Champion Jessica Teusl is also taking through a good stack (154,000) after a late triumph with kings.
Other notables that also made it to Day 2 include WSOP bracelet and ring winner Kathy Liebert (105,000) and other familiar faces including Loni Hui (91,500), Lexy Gavin-Mather (61,000) and Ebony Kenney (52,000).
Some notables that jumped into the field but didn’t make it to Day 2 include Kyna England, Christina Gollins, and Abby Merk, who also left the field with only a few hours left in the day after loosing a flip.
The 309 remaining players will restart Saturday, June 29, at noon local time to play ten more levels with a 15-minute break every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 16 (≈ 6:30 p.m.). Play will resume at Level 11 with blinds at 1,000/2,000 and 2,000 big blind ante.
