Rob Brown of Team Brown raised to 500 from the cutoff and was called by a player in the small blind.
Action checked through on the 7♥K♦9♣ flop.
The turn was the 6♦, the small blind bet 1,200 and Brown called.
The river was the 2♠, the small blind decided to bet 2,200. After some thought, Brown tossed in a chip signifying a call. The small blind tabled A♣8♣ for ace-high, which was no good as Brown's A♦9♥ for a pair of nines was the winning hand.

PokerNews heard a commotion coming from Table #239. Steven Buckner of Team Cipriano known to most as Cuz was up to his normal shenanigans of chatting up his tablemates.
Dave Olson of Team Jenkins told PokerNews that he may need to take his hearing aid out sitting next to Buckner. PokerNews responded, "You either have the best seat or the worst seat in the house sir, it's a matter of perspective," which got a chuckle from the table.

Kevin Javier of Team Javier raised to 500 on the button and received a call from a player in the big blind.
The dealer fanned 8♠8♥9♣ on the board, and the player in the big blind check-called Javier’s continuation bet of 500.
The 7♥ showed up on the turn and the player in the big blind checked. Javier sized up to a 1,200, which drew an immediate fold from his opponent.

Are we witnessing the greatest World Series of Poker (WSOP) ever?
No hyperbole, that's a genuine question. On Sunday, Scott Seiver won his third bracelet of the summer making him a lock to win the 2024 WSOP Player of the Year award. Or, so you'd think. But the latter part of that sentence couldn't be further from the truth.
Action was picked up preflop with Luis Schiano of Team Schiano all in and at risk from the big blind and was called by a player in the small blind.
Luis Schiano: A♦K♠
Small Blind: A♣Q♦
The board ran out K♦10♣A♥7♠7♦ securing the double up for Team Schiano.
