2024 World Series of Poker
Georgina Vuksanovic raised to 3,000 from middle position and Dumitru-Adrian Pora made it 15,000 to go on the button. Vuksanovic called and checked on the J♥9♦A♦ flop.
Pora continued for 12,000, which Vuksanovic raised to 40,000. Pora quickly mucked his card and Vuksanovic showed the J♣ while she raked in the pot.
The under-the-gun player opened 5,000 and Laurent Manderlier called in the hijack before Charles Shaverdians came along in the small blind.
The flop came J♥3♦2♦ and the action checked to Manderlier tossed a bet of 6,000 across the line. Shaverdians check-raised to 20,000, forcing the under-the-gun player out, while Manderlier made the call.
The 2♥ fell on the turn and both players checked to see the 5♦ on the river. Shaverdians led for 65,000 and Manderlier jammed for 120,000. Shaverdians called to see the bad news as he saw his top full house with JxJx was no good as Manderlier showed 6♦4♦ for a straight flush. He was left with just 1,000 in chips and was busted shortly after.
Mustapha Kanit defended the big blind against an open raise and check-called a bet for 4,000 on the K♣8♣2♦ flop. On the Q♦ turn, Kanit check-raised from 7,000 to 21,000 and received a call to then shove the K♦ on the river.
His opponent reluctantly called with the A♥K♣, but it was no good as Kanit's A♦8♦ had rivered a flush.
Jeffrey Mahoney bet the 9♦8♣4♥ flop for 3,000 and Jerry Yang called as the duo headed to the 2♠ on the turn. Mahoney then checked and folded when Yang bet 12,000.
Table 551 will be the next feature table for the final level of the night.
Christopher Hovey got his final 20,000 or so chips in against Joseph Sabe.
Christopher Hovey: K♠J♥
Joseph Sabe: A♦A♣
Hovey was left to runner-runner outs after the 3♣A♥2♥ flop, and the K♦ turn left him drawing dead. He left the table as the Q♠ river was dealt.
The next hand, Adam Crockett raised, and Seth Zimmerman jammed all in for 40,000 chips. Crockett snap called and the cards were tabled.
Seth Zimmerman: A♥Q♣
Adam Crockett: K♥K♣
The 9♣2♠7♣10♦4♥ board brought no help to Zimmerman, who was eliminated as a result.
The flop read 7♦4♦4♣. From the hijack, Soenke Jahn bet 2,500. Chris Moneymaker was in the small blind and raised to 7,500. Jahn three-bet to 13,000 and Moneymaker quickly four-bet piled all in for 25,000. Jahn took a few moments before he called to put Moneymaker at risk.
Chris Moneymaker: Q♦9♦
Soenke Jahn: A♥7♣
Moneymaker was looking for a diamond as the turn was the J♥ and the river the 4♥. Jahn pounded the table and let out a "yes!" in celebration as the 2003 Main Event champ was forced to walk away as there will not be a deep run for him in this edition of the biggest poker tournament of the year.
Action was picked up on the flop with roughly 41,000 in the pot with the board showing 2♣9♦8♠.
Michael Soyza is the big blind bet out 16,000, and Yuebin Guo in early position raised to 66,000. After spending over a minute thinking about his decision, Soyza made the call.
After the K♥ on the turn Soyza checked to Guo who bet all in for 65,500. This sent Soyza in the tank for nearly three minutes, before he mucked his cards and gave the pot to Guo.
A player opened to 3,000 from under the gun and was called by a player in early position. A player in middle position then three-bet to 11,000 only to see Hannes van Wauwe four-bet jam for 26,000 in the cutoff. Action folded back around to the middle position player, who quickly called with the covering stack.
Hannes van Wauwe: A♥K♣
Middle Position Player: Q♥Q♦
van Wauwe would need to win a flip to survive but could not do so as the board ran out 8♦7♣8♠J♠Q♠ to improve his opponent to a full house, leaving van Wauwe heading to the exits.
