Kim, Chivukula Find Doubles

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Brian Kim
Brian Kim

With around 1,000,000 in the pot on a board of 4A87, Kalyan Chivukula moved all in for 525,000 in the small blind as action went on Jacob Ferro in early position.

"I never take this long. Sorry guys," Ferro told his tablemates. "I was folding the entire way, but I talked myself into it," he added as he put in the chips to call.

"Nuts," Chivukula said, slamming down K10 for a flush. Ferro showed AQ and was left paying off Chivukula once the 9 fell on the river.

At the same time at another table, Brian Kim was all in for 2,100,000 from the small blind and up against Kevin Theodore on the button.

Brian Kim: AQ All in
Kevin Theodore: 9x9x

The flop came AJJ to give Kim the lead with two pair. The rest of the board ran out 72 and Kim doubled up.

Kovalski's Kings Cracked by Slobodskoy

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Fabiano Kovalski
Fabiano Kovalski

[Removed:499] raised to 200,000 and Fabiano Kovalski made it 500,000 to go two seats over in the cutoff. Aleksejs Ponakovs in the big blind reluctantly folded and Slobodskoy then clicked it back to 1,300,000. Kovalski moved all-in and his opponent reluctantly called.

Fabiano Kovalski: KK All in
[Removed:499]: AK

"I think the ace of spades will probably come. Yeah, likely the ace of spades," Slobodskoy predicted.

His wish did not come true on the 872 flop and Q turn. However, one of the remaining aces indeed came as the A rolled off on the river. Both stacks were counted and Kovalski was covered to hit the rail in painful fashion.

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Toby Gibson
Toby Gibson

There was a misdeal at Table 635 and players returned their cards to the dealer as Toby Gibson angrily showed KxKx and complained about how bad he was running.

Actually, the misdeal was a miracle for Gibson as Biao Ding to his immediate right showed AxAx as those at the table erupted and Gibson changed his tune.

"Look how well I run!" he laughed.

Lightbourne Takes Out Al-Shanti, Draws a Penalty

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Iaron Lightbourne
Iaron Lightbourne

Iaron Lightbourne raised to 200,000 on the button, Abdullah Al-Shanti three-bet to 600,000 in the big blind, and Lightbourne called.

Al-Shanti checked the J107 flop and Lightbourne bet 600,000. Al-Shanti then raised to 2,000,000 and Lightbourne instantly moved all in.

Al-Shanti checked with the floor to determine how many players were left as he faced with a decision for his last 250,000. "I'll give you four minutes," Lightbourne said.

"Why didn't you four-bet?" Al-Shanti asked.

"I have pocket sevens," Lightbourne replied, before being warned not to talk about the hand. Lightbourne eventually called the clock and Al-Shanti allowed the countdown to nearly reach zero before calling.

"If you really have pocket sevens, I'm dead," he said as the cards were revealed.

Abdullah Al-Shanti: AJ All in
Iaron Lightbourne: 77

Lightbourne did, indeed, show down a set and Al-Shanti was left drawing only to running cards. The 6 fell on the turn and he was drawing dead before the A fell on the river.

After the hand, a tournament official gave Lightbourne a one-round penalty for revealing his hand with action still in progress.

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Toby Gibson
Toby Gibson

Toby Gibson played a big pot against Manuel Machado on a board of 10107103.

With several hundred thousand already in the middle, Machado faced a bet of 1,000,000 from Gibson and called, only to muck as Gibson announced quads and showed 10J.

"Let me get a picture," Gibson said before raking in the pot.

Someone at the table noted that Gibson had asked about a pay jump earlier in the hand despite having the nuts.

"I had to!" the Indiana factory worker said. "That's part of the game."

Vaysman's Aces End Maue's Run

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

There were already around 1,500,000 chips in the pot on a board of 327Q when Leonard Maue checked it over to Justin Vaysman, who bet 850,000. Maue thought it over for a while but slid in the call.

On the 3 river, Mauechecked again only for Vaysman to shove for just under 2,500,000. Mauehad around 2,350,000 in his stack and after thinking it over, he decided to put them all at risk.

Vaysman flipped up AA which crushed the AQ of Maue, which ultimately sent him to the rail in the opening level of Day 6.
