While Foxen was doubling up, another all-in and call situation occurred at a feature table with Daniel Jones in early position who saw his 2,280,000 chip stack called by David Collins in the big blind.
Daniel Jones: Q♦Q♣
David Collins: K♠K♦
Only a queen could save Jones after the 10♠2♠A♠ flop. But there was no queen on the 3♣ turn and the 10♦ river so Jones was eliminated.
Moments before the break, Ren Lin in the hijack found himself at risk for 1,310,000 against Jonathan Tamayo in the cutoff.
Ren Lin: A♥K♥
Jonathan Tamayo: J♠J♣
On a board of 7♠8♦Q♣Q♦3♦, Tamayo won the flip, sending Lin to the rail.
Players are heading on a 20-minute break. Here's a peek at some of the highlights over the last two hours of play.
When players return from break, the blinds will be at Level 28 — 60,000/120,000 with a 120,000 big blind ante.
The initial schedule — US and international — is out for the 2024-2025 World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) season, and it should create some excitement within the poker community.
Action for the 20th Circuit season kicks off at a familiar spot — Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma — on July 17, the same day as the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event concludes. There will also be a return to the same casino in October.
There are 18 stops — 13 in the US and five in other countries — on the 2024 portion of the WSOPC schedule. That includes five different countries and eight US states.
Level: 28
Blinds: 60,000/120,000
Ante: 120,000
In a hand that went deep into the break, there were around 3,000,000 chips in the pot on a board of 8♠5♥2♦Q♥5♠ when Charles Russell had shoved. Rolands Norietis had around 3,800,000 in his stack and was in the tank well after all of the other tables had gone on break. After a several minutes in the tank, Norietis flicked in a single chip to make the call.
Russell tabled 2♣2♥ for a full house, and Norietis flipped 10♥8♥, which meant he was eliminated.
Casey Stewart moved all in for 1,450,000 from the hijack and Gerardo Hernandez called in the small blind.
Casey Stewart: 10♠9♠
Gerardo Hernandez: K♥K♣
Hernandez had woken up with kings to leave Stewart at serious risk of elimination. The flop came 7♠Q♣Q♦, while the A♠ turn gave Stewart some hope with a flush draw.
"It's never easy," Hernandez said, but he dodged the 6♥ river to take the pot and send Stewart to the rail.
